Could someone post a photo of the crank sensor for me please, preferably showing me where to find it. I've followed various peoples instructions and I can't find anything that looks anything like any sort of electrical device. Just want to get it off for Francois to try on his ve-hicle.

here it is:

Hi, SOMEONE here, yes I like it, that's exactly what I needed so thanks Clivvy. Now I can remove mine and give it to another club member so he can see if his is faulty before buying a new one. Good club this INNIT.

{quote}I've forgotten now but is yours bosch or zexel system?{quote}

It had a hitcahi maf so I'm guessing Zexel, but the front Anti Roll Bar is neither :augie

Don't no but if u take urs off u might need a plate or old sensor to stop oil running out not under pressure but it might get oil around that area might be wrong but worth thinking about just in case I'm right for a change doesn't happen often now adays .

I was wondering about that geoff, just hadn't turned the thought into text yet . probably have to use my van while the sensor is out, unless someone knows otherwise ?

Without a sensor you will be using the van anyway
:)

very true. Already sold the maf and fitted a cone filter, if I sell this sensor I can make a cold air induction system which may or may not help. Don't think I need it just at the moment !

No as his engine has been converted to non fly by wire ip .

Since you have converted it to the old mechanical pump, what emissions standards does your vehicle have to comply with? :nenau

From the Reg document, it would have to comply with the later more stingent emissions than an older vehicle with the old mechanical pump..:doh

Has it passed an MOT since the change over? :nenau

Just wondering !!

Rubbish!!

Particulate emission of 3.0 opacity or less for regular turbo engines. Doesnt matter whether it is an ECU or a watering-can throwing the fuel in.

Post 2008 it comes down to 2.5.

Passed it's mot just last Wednesday, don't have the emissions paperwork to hand but it wasn't mentioned so I guess it's ok ?

All the 2.7's are very under-fuelled as standard, you'll probably see no soot whatsoever when revved. Smoke test will be a doddle.

That doesn't apply to my pre-intercooler T2, I get a cloud of smoke that's as black as your hat if I blip the throttle!
