drain plug washer

The (over-priced!) copper washer supplied in the filter kit I bought is 20mm O/D 14mm I/D 1.25mm thick. Though I think the bore size is bigger than really necessary.

I actually use a 'bonded' type washer (& have done for many years on various cars) as these are reusable (at least 24 times before I had one fail, though not leak).

They don't leak & only need 'nipping-up'. The inner dia. is of rubber so is much better at sealing.

The only problem is where to buy in small quantities, perhaps someone in the club can help? Mine was 'liberated' many years ago from work; they came in boxes of 1000!

My local motor factor has boxes of copper washers in various sizes. But despite the vehicle with their name on the side being a terrano they didn't know the size...

For the brake discs: check the workshop downloads, there is one on changing the discs.
From experience: getting the old discs off the hubs might be challenge. I needed lots of penetrating oil and a big 'ole hammer in the end. Do make sure not to damage the hub!

If your old discs are worn thin, chances are you'll have to press the brake pistons quite a lot back into the calipers (undo the reservoir cap when doing so, and make sure the brake fluid does not overflow). This resulted in sticking brake pistons when I changed the discs on mine.
Also, when working in that general area, make sure the slider pins of the calipers are sliding in and out freely. Plenty of info here on the forum on how to check them.
