veg oil

from now on will stick to cooking chips in it.
recently had some running probs with my 2.7 tdi.after a long winded trail and error i found out that it was my injector pump that had had it.my brother in law removed and stripped it for me(deisel fitter for 20 years)he showed me the gunk that had got through the filter into the pump.made me think twice about running it on veg oil.the most i put in was 30% with derv.mine is the hitachi maf set up if that helps anyone out.

pity about that,

ill not even try then, as with my luck all sill stop working

Veg oil

Zippy,
Back in this tread is a web link to dieselveg.com...have you had a good look at the info on the site? I too was concerned that my valuable truck would not like the WVO so was looking at Biodiesel....well forget that, methanol, heat, caustic soda, kids...things don’t mix. I bought one of these Dieselveg kits, with everything in it that you need, and run, in summer, 100% WVO & 80:20 WVO:Dino in winter on the dual tank system. With the dual tank system the oil goes through a heat exchanger in the engine bay so resolves most of the viscosity issues....

OK I have had to rebuild my head due to an overheating problem when I bought the car but so far I've done a good number of miles on WVO, filtered to 1 micron with the best run giving 3000 miles to a tank of dino.
If you have access to WVO give the guys at Dieselveg a call, they'll tell you if your engine pump is suitable, they seam to have an inexhaustible database, and a lot of experience..

how this all going , and problems from any one???

Zippy

I run on 40% svo one fill and full diesel next fill. No problems over just under 2000 miles (that I'm aware of) just completed 200 miles towing a large caravan on the 40/60 mix ran sweet as. (apart from the smell of savoury cooking  )

Picked up 20 litres of svo for £17.40 so i reckon thats 87pltr.. diesel at 120 locally so lets see how it goes..

As far as I know it will, it is fitted with a Bosch VP30 injection pump a close relative to the VP37 pump as fitted to the 2.7tdi sharing the same pumping system it just has an ecu fitted on top.
