That's true, but if you buy any cheap plastic hose connections these days, that what you think are 3/4" BSP they are a coarser thread, and if it's say a through hose brush on an extendible handle, rarely do they fit, and disconnect or leak at the first sign of a side force....:doh:doh....

You end up with PTFE tape or amalgamating tape around the joint.:augie

I got a bolt with the correct thread to seal mine off but to be honest I wish that I had replaced the damper pipe instead.

I'm curious as to why you would have preferred to replace the damper pipe ?

I think JT means that he'd rather he'd replaced the existing damper pipe with a new flexi, rather than a like-for-like replacement?

All I did with mine was cut the steel damper pipe, flatten it between two hammers, then bend it over a couple more times and hammer it flat :thumb2

Possibly because some clutch assembly's will exhibit a rough low frequency vibration during operation and the damper pipe will absorb much of this....
