But I've got one sat in the shed just doing nothing so while I was underneath the truck doing some welding for the mot I started thinking about it :lol
Probably don't need one but I want one.

I've got a cool winch tray hitch thing, perfect for the back of the truck for the odd rear recovery.

One of my earlier ideas before LPG tank got fitted was to mount the winch on the floor behind centre console. As your truck is lifted you can bin the prop tunnel and flatten the floor there. then a bit of steel structure surgery for support ( chassis not far away). Cable can then be fed through a slot over the back axle and fuel tank like mine. Infact you could send the cable/rope through a conduit
Any way that would still leave some foot room each side for rear punters :thumbs
Alternative is the usual mount in the boot . I didn't want that as it ate into my ltd space.
Just consider the frame work reqd to mount it safely so it can actualy do the work it's capable of without ripping your truck to bits like a demented tin opener
Discuss :D

First thought was a simple rear winch bumper but would lose clearance on the back end and as mine is a lwb there is a good foot of car behind the rear axle so that was a no go.
Then I got looking at all that space in front of the tank which is just wasted with air:lol
My main concern it running the cable over the tank:nenau

Yep I thought of under the car but shied away from it being in the dirt all the time. So you can still go there but need a box for it , kind of where I went with it but you've got more room.
As for cable over the tank, you'll need two fairleads for safety ;) Exit where mine is as there's no other option apart from a custom fuel tank :augie

Yeah it needs a bit of thought this one.
Getting stuff fabricated is no problem but getting it to work safely is the main issue.
No rush to to do it, too cold to be under the car just for the sake of it:lol
I'm sure I will still end up crawling about with the tape measure though :thumb2

Could you not make it removable by having some box section spanning between the rear recovery points & fixed to them then attach the winch & tray to the box section, so when not needed it could be stored in the boot & you keep you departure angle:nenau could be talking out of my butt here:doh

Not at all mate.
Like the receiver hitch type ones.

Yeah something on those lines, bit like the witter tow bars but have a mounting point instead of the flange for the tow ball & recovery points could be added to it as you would loose them if you used the recovery points/tow bar mounting points to mount it in place. It would keep the winch clean & any servicing would be easy:thumb2 the down side is lifting the winch into place when needed:augie

Spent a bit of time tonight grinding down the welds .It's off to the powder coaters again tomorrow. I'm working nearby :D

I do like re-assembly time :sly

:thumb2 I would say you have definitely got your mojo back.
Looking forward to seeing the pearl in the flesh:naughty
