Some pretty old rigs in there mate

Need to get my "T" and "K" brackets on the wall this week as I've just brought an Amstrad 901B that I'll be using as a home base, I've also brought an Amtron 99 that I'll be dropping into a 12ft stainless steel pole to gain me some height

Just trying to source some Military Spec coax now and I should be a rocking :thumbs

get ya foundation ham licence exam passed , then you can play proper radio :thumb2

I have my licence, what callsign are you Briggie?

Amstrad 901, black rig with coloured leds for signal strength?

I had a illegal AM rig in the 70s with a K40, one night I was using it parked up at the bottom of my garden, dark night, windows misted up when there was a loud knocking on the car window, I ripped out the rig, shoved it under my seat, rolled down the window only to find it was my mum asking if I wanted a cup of tea :doh

Ah happy days dodging the detector van :thumb2

Does anyone use CB these days? I see that they now allow them to use FM, AM and SSB now.

What was the name of the little black antenna that you adjusted the SWR with a little top end wire and lock ring? You could get two sizes? What was your 'handle' and did you got to meets and hand out your eyeball cards?

Hahahahaha class!!!!! Thats the rig mate :thumb2

I spend many a late hour on the CB believe me, I head up to a hill not far from me that's 880ft above sea level which is the highest hill around here

I sit up there with my Intek on and a little KL203 burner under the drivers seat

the trouble is that cb is largely unregulated , I doubt very much that " operators " will adhere to power limits etc ......and this is where the trouble starts .......bigger and bigger antennas .....bigger and bigger linears ..... that's my gripe over with .......... but its ideal for green laning

Isn't that the best bit?? :naughty

On the whole 11m CB SSB operators regulate themselves, Yes you get the fair amount of idiots. But probably no more than on ham frequencies in the UK.

I hold a Amatuer radio license but have had more fun on 11m SSB.

everything has its place if used correctly ....... that is the point I was making , problems start for others if not used correctly as im sure you will agree , yes there are idiots everywhere , its just the accent or language that changes
