Break the whole motor for fuel related problems? what has happend, Rick

This is gonna be a long story :doh

Last Monday, got up for work & it wouldn't start. Boss came & picked me up to go to work.
Tuesday spent the day trying to sort it & spent £160 on having my starter & alternator refurbished.
Wednesday went to work.
Thursday spent the day taking the fuel pump off, injectors & glow plugs,
Friday went to work.
Saturday & Sunday had the children.
Monday spent the day doing Phill's truck.
Tuesday got mine 90% back together.
Today took the starter off as the had put the wrong bits inside & went & bought a new 1 for £195.
Still wont start by key or towing.
My mate has insected the old glow plugs, injrctors & pump & said the plugs have got to hot or over heated or something, can't remember what he said now :doh
The pump was blocked & gunked up with a mixture of dirt ( from cleaning the mini filter & dirt falling in )
The injector nozzles where blocked.

So it has cost me 5 days off work unpaid
£355 on part's
Plus i still have nothing to drive & I'm relying on other people to cart me about

I still cant see how veggie/sunflower can be blamed for the problems nor can i see why youre breaking the car :nenau

How did your fault finding lead you to knackered starter motor and alternator when a physical exam showed fuel blockages

Youve lost me on this one :doh

The alternator brush's were on there way so got it refurnished

The starter didn't seem to want to do its job...

( taking it back to get me cash back tomorrow )

It won't fire or run on sun flower oil

Tomorrow is it's last chance :(

Gonna fill it up with diesel & 5 litres of petrol & see what happens

have you tried ................ honestly ???

only if its not firing on easy start. you got other issues than fuel...... easy start dont need fuel to fire

id try winding that turbo back in .

or / and compression test .

easy start and still not firing thats all it could be

id say head gasket gone , but i've seen fronterras fire up with blown gaskets ... even emptying the oil and coolant out of the exhaust they fire (not run)with easy start

its bloody hard not to fire with easy start adz

Well...
If no joy tomorrow  :nenau I'm breaking it  :(

put me down for the tyres then :thumbs and the ................. hmm just thought. there is nothing else you cut it all off :lol:lol:lol

I think you are giving up a bit early, you are not ignorant re engines, but you are just not looking in the right direction, so fuel has fcd your fuel system, you have another pump and there are injectors sitting here ( I can pull them and post if needed) unless there is something else wrong with the engine? but come on think about it you can sort it, you know as well as I do that all these "alternative fuels" will run the motor but some have detrimental effects on seals and some gunge up filters, but that is about it, so come on get your head in gear, and get it sorted, Rick

Took the pump, injector rail's & injector's :augie :lol

Well today is do or DIE for Dirty Frog

Everything's been replaced with reconditioned & or brand new part's :naughty

Drained the tank last night & put £17.50 of diesel in it & £2.50 of Petrol with 2 bottle's of additive :sly

So, it will be a case of towing it to ( preserve my new starter ) & get everything turning over

Back later with final report :nenau

First time i've ever heard of a motor not firing on easy start

We got an old diesel series landy that had not run for 20 years going with it... made some scary noises like but it went eventually lol :clap

Hope you get it sorted mate, would be a shame to say goodbye to dirty frog :(

It's ALIVE ! ! !

Right here we go :augie

1st'ly, it is now running & back on the road after 11 days in bit's

Had the old girl for nearly 2 year's now :D

1st few month's used pump diesel, then from my boss as his diesel was 96p litre.
After a while changed over to Bio Diesel from www.chelmsfordbiodiesel.co.uk as it was 90p a litre.
Then moved onto veg oil with 5 litre's of petrol on every full tank.
NO PROBLEM'S... NO MODIFICATION'S...

Last Sunday in Wales for the trip back i bought 60 litre's of Sun Flower Oil.
Wacked it straight in...
Monday morning, wouldn't start :nenau boss picked me up

Tuesday, spent the day trying to fault find  & getting the starter & alternator refurbished :(

Wednesday, went to work :(

Thursday, Spent the day stripping down to get the pump off

Friday, went to work

Saturday & Sunday spent the weekend with me little 1's :D

Monday, spent the day doing Phill's ;)

Tuesday & Wednesday spent hour's taking thing's apart cleaning them & putting them back together :banghead
Bought a new starter as the "refurbished" 1 was fooked
Drained the tank & refilled with 40 litre's or diesel, 10 litre's of super unleaded, 1 cup full of thinner's & 4 tubes of additive.
SO

Up to yesterday, NEW starter, refurbished alternator, 2nd hand fuel pump & fuel rail's & injector's.

Today...

The only thing left was the glow plug's... Took them out & they where black & 11mm shorter than new 1's  They had been fried
Changed them but wouldn't stay running

By-passed the fuel filter (new) & it run but lumpy  :clap :D

Played with slight adjustment's to the pump's timing & run well sweet :D

Took the filter housing to bit's & it had the "diesel bug".!

So waked on a Pug hand primer & 2 in line filter's, 1 behind & 1 in front of the primer :D

Job done :D & back on the road :D will it ever die :lol :augie

Conclusion

Never use NEAT SUN FLOWER OIL :nono

When changing your fuel filter, clean your housing

Fully understand what NON diesel fuel's your using & what the repercussion's could be  ( 5 day's off un-paid & £450's )

After speaking to a diesel expert today i can safely say i will only use diesel, bio diesel & Veg oil with petrol & oil ( for the pump )

So there ya go folk's

Will say THANK-YOU to :
