put new battery on 2 days ago
As you have changed the battery recently, and not saying I know more that the guy who came out to you, but when you get a chance, have a look at the positive clamp connector on the battery. The clamps are a bit of a weird design, and they break fairly easily, but unless you look really closely, they look like everything is OK. It's only when you look really closely, you see that although the wire is held in place, it is not actually attached to the clamp, so makes a bad connection. Was dirt in the connections for starter motor

When I first got my T2, it was a bit random about starting, and it was only because I came across a post on here, as someone else was having starter issues, I saw the post about the clamps, and found mine was snapped.
Quick trip to Halfrauds, and a new clamp was in place, and "touch wood" not had a problem since.
