Daughter has a Mitsubishi L200 and the brake bleeding is stated to be done WITH the engine running. Apparently this pressurises the system, giving better results, & allowing the bleed nipples to be opened & bleed without touching the brake pedal.
Wonder if anyone has experience of this, & does it work with the Terrano?
Mine's not due for a change until next year or I would have given it a try LOL.

Depends on the vehicle, I know nothing about the L200 but I cannot see that the brake lines will be pressurised without the pedal being pressed, as this would lead to the brakes being on constantly, but there are a lot of strange and unusual systems out there, Rick

Some vehicles with ABS and more importantly traction control / esp must be bled engine running so the pump can run to keep the accumulator charged.

Valid point Timbo, I have not dealt with either, so no first hand info, but makes good sense, Rick

Engine Running

I would have thought you still need to pump the brake pedal as well but there are some odd systems around.

On later SL Mercs Post 2003, SLS & earlier E class models you can only bleed the brakes by hooking them up to the Merc computer and opening the bleed nipples as directed by the computer as they have a charging pump and the brakes are fly-by-wire as on commercial aircraft undercarriages.

Those Mercs have an electric brake pedal with "simulated brake pedal feel" the EBC control unit on this braking system have a manufacturers warranty of 12 years.
