this is what i'm saying. the fix isnt going to be £300. the big expense, is labour, so we are talking AT LEAST £700. well, for a wee bit more we get a full on new car with 12 month MOT and a better chance to examine the car properly before hand. then, the mistral can be sold off as spares just as we plan, to me, theres only a few hundred quid in the difference between a repair, and a new car. when i say new, of course i mean second hand! but my point is this, even though i understand any car can have trouble, we have an opportunity to check the car, hell, pay for it checking by the AA and end up on top again. If you check that ebay ad for the Isuzu, thats the sort of thing i'm talking about, ok the cars HUGE and maybe over the top, but its an example...it can be done.

oh, just noticed Pete you said the isuzu is in Leeds..see hwo it goes, can pop over for a look.

Bloke who worked at our place had one of those Lotus Troopers. Loved it to bits. He went all over the place in it inc off road. Used to do a 60+ mile commute each day and it never let him down.

He only got shot of it in the end because of the cost of commuting..............then changed job to about 5 mile from home :lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

any vehicle has to fit thse conditions

must be automatic ... i physically cannot drive a manual

must have easy access both in and out without being too high or low sidesteps ideal plus a grab rail

needs to be able to accomodate my large and heavy joystick controlled electric wheelchair .... clive has seen this and knows what its like .

needs to have a flat floor ( not a boot ) to load wheelchair in and out

ideally 7 seats too so i can take the grandkids with me to the seaside etc

ideally diesel ( cheaper to run more mpg generally )

ideally 4x4 because if it snows etc im knackered if i get stuck , but this isnt too essential

reliable ( see above )

thats about it , clive has seen me and knows my problems , hope this helps you all with a little insight .

kind regards......... love ya to bits

I think you are describing the car you already have , well maybe not the reliable bit ;O)

Not sure I actually believe the "sounds like" diagnostics and would rather see it stripped down first .

But if it's a fix or a replacement engine I would be happy to chip in again.

Can't afford much as I seem to have worn out my rear shocks.

Don't know how that happened ;O)
