Hi lads and lassies,

im doing more and more of my own mechanics and am now looking to purchase my own obd2 scan tool, do any of you have one? recommend one? i dont want to spend more than £100 but just want it to read codes then clear them.

Thanks in advance :D

(Haha, i am by no means the best home mechanic, im just looking for the best scan/reader for a newbie!)

i bough a delphi ds150 which you use via a laptop of ebay but i also have a LAUNCH diagun which is more expenseive than the ds150 and i have the wow interface two both the ds150 and wow interface cost ablut £60 to £80 but do do most vehicles stay away from the cheap ones as they are manly chineese imports and my diagun cost me £600 quid but i use that for my main work :thumb2

then I doubt it will work, RayF will fully enlighten you, first thing to look for is the OBD2 diagnostic plug, but I think there was an interim period where some had the plug but it was not compliant,Rick

It does have the obd2 port as the garage confirmed that when they looked up the abs sensor fault. Cheers on the info rjl mate will stay away from the cheap ones

First querstion is it 14 pin or 16 pin
If its 16 pin, 2nd question, is Pin 7 present

Righto im not sure im off to aberdeen at 6 but will check when i get there and report back. Solarman i will try find Rayfs posts see what you mean

Odd that as I have the Delphi software and brakes are not supported even up to 2006, Rick

It was a massive snap on double handled code reader, not something i can afford as he said it was 1000s to buy,
But i have the printout in the car can upload it if that helps?

Leaving now ha. Off to help a friend out fitting new doors as their selling their house. And get new suspension woop will post a pic when i get them

Thats the connection i have. Does look different to the one on my audi but is 16pin?? Sorry guys once again im looking for your knowledge on this!!

You wont be able to use any of the Consult stuff then same as me, myself and Ray have yet to get it working. I might start some research again soon when In get some time, i'm saving it for the winter list as I can sit in the car without being cold :lol
