I've not been able to get online much lately so I just wanted to drop in and say I'm still coming along on the 30th and so is my friend (Bryan) in his Maverick.

I'm well excited about going green laning 8)

Thanks for all the effort that cameraman & the group leaders have put into organising this event, it is much apreciated.

Meet: Sunday 30th December 2007. Bamford Rail station. 0930.

Grid Ref: SK 20708255, landranger map series, sheet 110.

Nearest road junction in road atlas: A6187/A625 and A6013. Petrol/Diesel available at this traffic lighted junction. Rail station 250 yards away.

Satnav: Bamford - Station road - 'crossing' - Saltergate lane

CB: Initially set to channel 08 from 0915.

once had to spend the night in my van due to flat battery miles away from anywhere and the next morning it started first time :?

we were going to have a run out saturday but decided to stay home and warm.
got to get my kettle out and rig a light up that wont shine in your eyes :wink:

I have questions for Iandouglas.

As you are from Notts please will you share your route to Derbyshire? I live very near to J26 of the M1 and I'm not sure of the best way. No satnav here but I've got a great navigator!

Also as you have been on these runs before can you give me a rough idea how much I would need to budget for diesel?

There are two experianced lady drivers attending as guests on this day, one will be leading a group and one is available to ride along if required.

If any lady drivers amongst you would prefer to be in a group lead by a lady or to have someone ride along please let me know, this can be by PM if you prefer. I can appreciate that sometimes its easier to ask questions from ones own gender. I hope this does not come accross as being condesending, its certainly not meant that way.

I will be posting groups neare the time.

I'm sure Ian will give you a better ans than I can, as I live close by, but from home to home including all the off roading I do, rarely use more than a quarter tank.

There is a fuel station near the start point, but it is quite expensive.

My usual mileage for one of these days is about 140 miles each way to get there, plus whatever mileage Andy has planned, often total miles is between 200-240 or so miles. So I budget on 1/2- 3/4 of a tank full, you may well be closer?

was thinking of coming on this if possible myself, if you are stuck for
someone to lead a group around i could be interested in that for you?

Ok then your in, not going to be a hard day but you will still need to be able to navigate and lead a group of 4.

Regardless of numbers attending i do not want to run groups of over 4.
