More things happened today . Mainly me avoiding the phone :augie finishing line approaches :)
Inner rear arch extension got welded up , so prettydamn strong now I'll have you know :sly

Underside done :clap
You won't see this again soon as I have the skid plate to fit next.

First trial of the skid plate reveals it does indeed not fit :doh Any road up I can makeitfit :lol

It's too low and too long .

So template time and out with the jiggy  Needs to be about 45mm shorter and rebent

Here too I needed to modify around the torsion bar adjusters.

Here's the refolded front end redrilled and ready for fitting, I hope

and boom , it's on :clap and looking mean :naughty

Will sort some kind of bolt and spacer arrangement tomorrow as I suspect the string wont last :lol

Other jobs today include fitting the zorst brackets

Brake system filled with juice . Handbrake adjusted . Rear bumper tweaked some more and much tea made
Onwards.

Just where on earth do you expect to be going with this mean machine? Rick

OK but for me there would have to be a purpose, especially after all that time and effort, Rick

The purpose is because you can :thumb2
It's like airfix models but for grown ups :lol:lol
Really liking that under body protection, they cost a small fortune new
Just a quicky Pete, where did you get the braided brake lines from??
Wasn't Shepherd hydraulics was it as they are just around the corner from me so I will be visiting them in the near future.

I got them from Llama 4x4 about 16 quid each. Any fitting and upto a meter long. Some colours too ;)

Usually I'd agree with you but there is a little more to this than my kirt response earlier.
When I first started 4x4 I knew very little. Then I got the bug and happened across a Maverick. Found this site for help. Then there was a period of the old guard getting the hump as a few of us Welsh types upset the status quo a bit.
Lots of "you can't do that" , and why this n that, bla bla
Anyway I tried many things , some worked , some didn't, but bit by bit with help from here I got things moving.
Then it got bigger I had to invent stuff and on it went.
Then I found the Patrol , phwoar :naughty
Black pearl got laid up.
Then the boy got into his mechanics apprenticeship . So I very charitably set him about welding up the black truck to hone his skills.
Some years later we decided we might as well finish it off properly on the original route I was on 5 years back.
By this time the boy and I were feeding off each others skills and ideas.
Now we're doing projects on it because we can :D Plus it looks good in his portfolio
That's why :splif

It looks great, hats off to you both.

I said I would never own another Terrano again, but this is up my street.

Looking forward to seeing it finished...
