Phew! you had me worried there for a moment, not got as much wvo as I'd like right now and with Asda's stuff I know it''s all rapeseed oil.
Plus if you spend more than £40 (must be at least 8 different grocery items) and use their online shopping compare tool, they'll send you a £5 off voucher for next time. Reduces the price even more. :clap
Ah, hadn't checked the deal that much! Will try my receipt tonight hopefully as I got a bit of general shopping while I was there, hopefully it'll work out.
There's nowt like having your fuel delivered to the door!
For those that do not really understand this whole "Not putting diesel" in a diesel car (Me!), can you explain exactly how you go about using cooking oil.
Does it need to be any type specifically, or can you use any cooking oil? Costco quite often does deals on it's 20litre cans, but I have not brought my self round to doing it, as I do not understand the pro's and con's.
Also, as it is getting colder, am I likely to start hitting problems (viscosity) at this time of year, and should I really stick to doing it just in the summer?
My truck is completely unmodified, so a bulk standard 2.7TDi.
Ohhh and Aafter I stupidly filled it with Petrol, instead of Diesel, I have been putting Redex in the tank each fill up just to try and prevent any issues, would this be detrimental to veg oil?
wouldn't worry about puttin redex in some people run on diesel mixed with petrol it helps clean the system, as for running on veg oil in summer when nice and warm you can run 100% no probs and as it gets colder mix it with a bit of diesel or petrol to thin it a bit
i run my truck on something called diesel ..... strange i know , but my truck doesnt need any mods to run on it , its easily available , and my truck runs great on it :augie,...... why fart about changing fuel filters , heaters ,adding petrol etc to save a few quid ?...... or is it me ? :nenau
Bloody hell briggie, have you won the lottery recently ? :augie:lol
Diesel £1.45 and more round here, veggy oil £0.83, erm let me just work that out, hang on, erm , carry one, less the finger on my left foot , one for his knob and er, yep I make that 62p a litre cheaper
OR shall we say £37 quid saving per fill up , assuming a piddly little 60 litre tank Mine's a 90 litre tank, guess what I run my truck on :sly
So how much do you put in, I was doing a google search, and generally people who seem to use veg oil seem to say not to go over a third veg to 2 thirds diesel, and not to do it in the winter. what do you do?
