Rapeseed oil at ASDA and ASDA Online 3lts for £2.50 today 5/11/12

Go get it while it lasts. :thumbs

Is today the last day of that offer? I've topped up from Asda a couple of times recently, very good price indeed.

I dont know, i have only just found out and put the date so people would know it was NOW! :lol

Phew! you had me worried there for a moment, not got as much wvo as I'd like right now and with Asda's stuff I know it''s all rapeseed oil.

Plus if you spend more than £40 (must be at least 8 different grocery items) and use their online shopping compare tool, they'll send you a £5 off voucher for next time. Reduces the price even more. :clap

I just looked at that, but one item has to be less at another store as i was going to order 8 other things as well.:doh Or am i reading this wrong. Would 24 bottles be calssed as the same item or 24 different ones.

I just ordered 24 bottles giving me 72 Lts with a saving of around £37 on the cost of diesel.

Ah, hadn't checked the deal that much! Will try my receipt tonight hopefully as I got a bit of general shopping while I was there, hopefully it'll work out.

There's nowt like having your fuel delivered to the door!

For those that do not really understand this whole "Not putting diesel" in a diesel car (Me!), can you explain exactly how you go about using cooking oil.

Does it need to be any type specifically, or can you use any cooking oil? Costco quite often does deals on it's 20litre cans, but I have not brought my self round to doing it, as I do not understand the pro's and con's.

Also, as it is getting colder, am I likely to start hitting problems (viscosity) at this time of year, and should I really stick to doing it just in the summer?

My truck is completely unmodified, so a bulk standard 2.7TDi.

Ohhh and Aafter I stupidly filled it with Petrol, instead of Diesel, I have been putting Redex in the tank each fill up just to try and prevent any issues, would this be detrimental to veg oil?

wouldn't worry about puttin redex in some people run on diesel mixed with petrol it helps clean the system, as for running on veg oil in summer when nice and warm you can run 100% no probs and as it gets colder mix it with a bit of diesel or petrol to thin it a bit

Cheers Kamsin, just ordered 24 bottles too. Should be here around this time tomorrow night :)

hi

i run mine on straight veg oil i get mine from bookers wholesale £19.20 for 20 ltrs new oil and i have a pump from machine mart i must admit the neighbors look at me funny seeing me pump veg oil in the tank :eek:but i don't care saves me a fortune :lol:thumb2

Bloody hell briggie, have you won the lottery recently ? :augie:lol
Diesel £1.45 and more round here, veggy oil £0.83, erm let me just work that out, hang on, erm , carry one, less the finger on my left foot , one for his knob and er, yep I make that 62p a litre cheaper :D
OR shall we say £37 quid saving per fill up , assuming a piddly little 60 litre tank  Mine's a 90 litre tank, guess what I run my truck on :sly

So how much do you put in, I was doing a google search, and generally people who seem to use veg oil seem to say not to go over a third veg to 2 thirds diesel, and not to do it in the winter. what do you do?
