we all get advice throughout our lives , whats the best ( and worse ) advice youve had ? share it with us , it might help :augie

i remember my gran telling me " peter lad , if shes good enough to sleep with , then shes good enough to marry "

an old mate of mine (no longer with us) said to me, "i was spending hundreds of £ tuning my mk1 cortina in the 70's at the time". if you want to go fast, buy a fast car. so i did, a jaguar 3.4 mk2.

i can relate to that :thumb2 , dad always told me " drive as fast as you can stop " at the time i thought it sounded silly , i dont now

well that's what he said to me in away, fords spend millions of pounds on development and you come along and change it, tune the engine, what about the brakes, all you could do then was to fit up rated pads. the jag was nice though, and a bit of comfort.:thumb2

oh i got plenty of my dad ... as you would expect :D

you cant put an old head on young shoulders

my fave ever was

dont let the bas tards get you down .

trouble is there are so many, i often say things to my kids , then later think im starting to sound like my dad now

live life to the full and look after them that look after you and ignore the liars,,,,,,,my grandad told me that, never a truer word spoken

Live each day as if it's your last..
One day you'll be right.

Advice

:(
After being tugged for no L plates on my motorbike---many years ago ----
guilty-----£2.00 fine (big money then; especially for an apprentice)---my sympathetic Dad said; " Never mind; just remember that for every door that closes, another one shuts".

Not exactly advice, but it made me smile !

"Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see...." :augie

My dad said to me
If you can,t say anything nice
Don,t say anything at all:)

I think he was trying to keep me quiet:rolleyes: it seemed to work:) (15 again):lol

"dont eat anything before watching this program....."

" good manners costs nothing son , but achieves more than money ever can "

( my dad again )

bigger they are harder they fall
no dad bigger they are harder they hit:doh
