Rang one, Quoted £30 + vat. Sounds about right?

Going to ring the other one in the same town too see what they say.

Going to try and start it and attempt to get into town to get it.

well it started and now its warm starts no problem. Lukcily I remembered to ring them again to check its in stock. Which it isn't, I'd have had a wasted journey.

Any pics about as they will have to order it specially in with no refund.

I never did any and I don't remember seeing anyone who has......well have a fiddle with it, its a bit awkward to get at under the steering wheel, especially as you're a streak of pi55 like me LOL, but from memory its just a couple of screws holding it on at the back?

yes its a bugger to get at, the screw head is blocked off by the steering bar thing.

I can't get it off, Just one screw but can't undo it as theres no space for scredriver or pliers.

It's off, Best way to get the screw out is from below with a small pair of pliers. And just grip hard and unwind a bit at a time.

went inside it, but cant figure out how its meant to go back together. :banghead

seemed ok, the area was pretty greasy.

going to take it into the ford dealer and make sure its the right one, Then if it is bite the bullet and order a new one. If it's not the right one I might have to try a 2nd hand one.

Interesting.....if its dicky the contacts are usually badly burnt, so if they aren't that might not be your problem....unless the grease is preventing a proper circuit?

I still reckon it's the starter:augie
Esp.\ as it's happened again after some excursion off road:lol
I've done 4 now and changed 2 key switch dodas :doh

Sorry I just can't bring myself to say it..:lol:lol:thumbs

aye I am thinking the same.

My fault I shouldn't of gone into the switch backplate so far. No worries I'm going to pop to a local garage that has a maverick as scrap/parts.
