advice needed. arches and sills

hi just wondering now, has anyone cut their arches back? if so by how much, front and back? also i saw somthing about removing the inner arches, is this sensible to do or will it just fill with mud?
another one, when people are doing their rock sliders are you purley bolting them to the chassis and keeping origional sills or are you replacing the sills with like box section prior to fitting rock sliders?
sorry for all the questions but my little mav wants to be as mean as possible but theres alot to do :/ maybe one day she will be as good as the mighty black pearl :sly

No point cutting arches back unless your running big tyres or they are too rusty to recover.
 
I've cut my arches back an inch :sly Back is more trouble obviously but helps with 35s on :naughty
I cut the front back too as it also gets rid of the rot :lol
Bin the gay side steps,then bin the sills,then weld in your box section in place of the sills. That then becomes your rock slider. You could then weld on tree sliders to the box if you want, but I'd keep the clearance mate :thumbs
 
well my front wings had a bad case of tin worm when i first got her so i cut it back and rebuilt them with mesh and fiberglass but where i have been fideling aroung putting the snorkel on and what not its crackerd and ive got rust bubbles galore :/. so i take it as cutting them back would be the best bet to clear it all? bbut if i cut back then i wont be able to fit the inner arch back in, dose this matter?
 
haha ok so i get the point i should ditch them, but wont it give places to trap mud like in the bottom of the wing and shizz?
 
If you'redoing any offroading it'll get there anyway and you wont know it.
Just give everything a good coat of oily spray .
 
right so after iv put her through the mot thats another job to put on the to do list haha. also you wouldnt happen to know of anywhere i could get plastic widend arches?:D
 
Plastic will break, If it's for proper offroading your better sticking with a rubber flap such as conveyor belt.

when you cut off your sills did you fully weld the box section on or just stitch it:nenau
have got some fat 3"diameter steam pipe at work I can have to make some sliders but as my sills are a bit pants I might cut them off and weld this straight on.

Cut all the old poo sills out and completely welded up everything to the box. No gaps here mate :thumbs

I am out of the Closet, I like my Gay T2.

Not only that, but since mine is a Girl, I am thinking of getting her a friend!!! I will just try not to watch...:doh;)
 
ah daing! so this means im gay haha, i had a side step and ive only go grabbers. well i suppose i best ungay my self pretty soon then.;)
