hi all

so i have checked the sensors and wiring with a multi meter they seem ok ,i have striped both front hubs and checked /cleaned the sensor and sensor ring, but the warning light stays on

can any body help.... please

cheers gaz

not 100% sure but if your brake pads are wearing thin this can make the light come on :?: :?: maybe someone else in the club alot more mechanical than me can confirm this or point you in the right direction with the problem.

Gaz, try having a look at previous posts. I'm sure there is a way of checking the front sensors, something to do with the wire breaking. Might even be a workshop on the subject.

thanks for the replys

brake pads and disks were replaced 1500 miles ago and i have checked the wires .
i have just taken her (TILLY) out for a run after an oil change and tried an emergency stop and it felt like the abs was working :!:
but the light has stayed on -banghead-

any ideas :?:

Could always do what i did on my motorcycles put a sticker over the light  or take the bulb out :?:   as suggested low pads or try the gap between sensor and pickup :?: :?:

what about sticky or seized pistons in the callipers :?:

abs sensor

iv,e got the same prob with mine.it was intermittant at first but now it seems to be on all the time.if you do a search for abs sensors theres a thread about re wiring the front sensors.this was going to be my saturday afternoon job but i cant find a shop near me that sells the heat shrink insulation that you need to do it ,so it looks like a trip to maplins electrical.good luck. :?

abs sensor wires

just to let you know i replaced the two front sensor wires at the weekend and this has solved the problem i had with the light staying on.only took a couple of hours to do,but its well worth it.cost about a tenner to buy the wire and the heatshrink but it gives me peace of mind now that the abs works properly
