Ah ok, so are you going to keep the Trol the same as it is now with the original 4.2 petrol engine, sell the merc and do up the camper? :)

Not even that far thw bonnet opens to vertical. Good idea.

Can't say I'm not gutted :(

How long is the 606 conversion on hold for then? or is it until the camper is done?

Not my bag mate those beasts but people go mad for them!!!!!!

Stick the om606 in the camper :D

Glad you are keeping the Trol, and I've got a soft spot for the big petrol lumps and they are quite apt for tuning themselves with a nice big turbo.

I cant wait to drive a nice high revving petrol again myself

Im quite pleased with the latest mpg returns after a weekend in the lakes wiv da crew:thumb2. 14.7mpg all up at over 3.5t.

It went through the mot, almost empty fuel too and came in at 3175kg. Book weight is 2470kg. So a few ex pounds has been gainws from somewhere...

Wow!!! 700kg? From where, can't all be in the wheels and roof rack surely?

Is that not the swb book weight Steve? I understood the lwb was around 2800kg which would make more sense :nenau

I'm sure last time it was on the weighing thing is was 1250kg front and back.
But thats still plus 350kg probably about right tbh

Bonnett technology now different.

Not even that far thw bonnet opens to vertical. Good idea.

All the older Mercs did this trick if you pressed in a clip on either side. Our R129 does it as did all our old W124 based models.

With the new pedestrian impact rules the bigger Mercs now have bonnett hinges a bit like the seat belt tensioners that blow upwards on impact to give a more vertical bonnett to prevent the pedestrian going over the roof etc.

On low impact you can re-set the hinge but on full impact it's a new front end! Think they work on air rather than explosive like the belt tensioners do.
