my mate is checking my truck over,fitting my front shocks,adjusting the torsion bars, and over loading the gearbox with oil on Tuesday. as I am a bit mechanicaly illiterate.

will there be pit stops?

I will on Saturday elevensies get my cooker on (anyone got a spare as I would hate it if everyones starving and it packs up) and cook everyone bacon and cheese oatcakes with a choice of red or brown sauce.
at my expence which is my contribution to hands on off roading tuition.

3 in my car.

oatcakes wont take long to do.
I will get up early cook the bacon and its just a case of a min or two on hot pan to warm oatcake and cheese.

Take the tow bar off for the weekend though eh

Took mine off today and angled the electric sockets out the way :thumb2

Changed the diff oil as well since I assume we'll be spending a good load of time in 4wd and I don't know when (or if) the Troll's first owner had last changed it... was very nice to see that the old oil was reassuringly clean

I'll have my gas burner with me. Not got anything packed yet though... that'll be for later in the week! Need to buy the supplies as well.

Exosteve, you staying at Woodlands? I'll be there Fri and Sat night.

was going to click book now for woodlands.
then father in law said I will come to look after the sprog.
so I picked a site to cater for there needs( swim pool,entertainment,spas,n sunbeds and so forth in aberystwyth.
then he changed his mind so sprogs with us on the runs,Im out of pocket and on a site that I didn't particularly want to go to

bit pissed off about that.
But I refuse to be negative and I will have a good time regardless.
however.
I will be setting off early on Friday and pass woodlands.
if my site looks poo? might end up there anyway. as long as I can get a hook up for my hot plate,heater,lamps and laptop:lol

By the way folks, how many of you are rocking CB in some form or another? Solarman's talk of handhelds has me thinking I should be sourcing one for the trip!

Hi Stinka, There is space for one truck on sunday. I hate running any more than 6 trucks.

Not the same but your welcome to go as a passenger on Saturday or if someone pulls out drive your truck.

Handheld ordered, along with a speaker mic and a mag mounted whip for the top of the truck...

My Dad's gonna love it, he used to run one on his car back when it was illegal

Most CB handhelds use a antenna connector called a BNC. Make sure your mag mount coax has a BNC connector or use a adaptor.

If you can't get BNC to PL259 adaptor in time I have one spare you can borrow.

Unless you bought one with a in car adaptor you will be ok.

Cheers Fez, handheld comes with an in car adaptor and I phoned up the shop before ordering to ask about mag mounted aerials and they directed me to the one I've got so should be ok... touch wood! :thumb2

stinka, its a 3 hour drive from here to devils bridge, that's a lot of driving for just a day, might be aswell getting yourself a b&b for satdy night or summat:nenau
