Last Sunday I did an event on some soft freshly cut grass. When it was time to go home I thought it would be an ideal time to try out the four wheel drive.

4H engaged no problem but I couldn't seem to get 4L is there a knack to it?

When I tried it was like trying to put a manual into gear without the clutch. its probably me and my usual grasp of technical things but I thought I would ask anyway, just in case.

cheers

you have to be moving to go in and out of 4h but you have to stop to get 4l

Also to get into 4L you have to go through Neutral, which means pushing the gear lever downwards while pulling back.
As Terranokid says, you have to have stopped to change into or out of 4L

It's worth doing this every 3-4 months to get the gears running, but not on road surfaces as you will get transmission wind up.

it took me ages to get use to putting into 4L on the mistarl as said stop place in neutral and then place into 4L

that should work a treat.

Thanks guys, guessed I was at fault somewhere

I will give it a go at the weekend, I might just need it !!

cheers
