Although the Alternator is now bolted to the truck, I haven't tested it's functionality yet as I've got a lot of wiring disconnected at the moment while the truck is being refurbished.

As you'll see by a couple of the previous pictures, the wiring is not exactly the same as the original alternator.

Thanks to Makeitfit, he put me on the right track with a few snippets of info such as the plug type on the new alternator being an RP19, I've brought one now with a tail of cable on it from eBay in preparation to modify my wiring.

Not that I don't trust Pete, I just wanted to get everyone else's opinion on how I should be tackling this.

Can anyone see me causing any harm by linking the B Terminal to the S Terminal?

I cannot help wondering if the S goes to the battery why did they not do that internally, I would be happier to connect S to the ignition switch, S is labelled as battery sensing, L of course is the warning light, Rick

Like I said bro, many trucks including the Patrols as standard have the S connected to the B Terminal although to sense as accurately as possible it should be as near the battery +ve as possible.

Common Trol mod is to extend the S wire so it connects to the battery +ve.

r3mR has higher output alternator

Probably a bit late in the day my old Terrano r3mR had a high output alternator as standard I think it was around 120 amp unit.
