hi all thanks for the advice, the strangest thing has happened, whilst messing with the switch i managed to blow the fuse, but replaced the fuse and hey presto everything works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im sure it was not the fuse as had tried different fuses.... anyway have checked all th other...

well i thought it had worked, work ok twice then light stuck on, have tried 2 new switches and every time i fit them, they work once, and then stay on, any ideas, could it be surge blowing the switch, but have taken one apart nd there doest seem anything to blow.. help

thanks all left the battery disconnected for a while and that has seemed to have done the trick with regards to the getting the lights to work normally. thanks for the advice and help

hi was thinking that it could be in the towbar wiring, will have to take a look, ( made the mistake of letting the son in law hook it up:doh) noticed that the rear brake lights bulbs were on,when they called me to say that they were having a problem,will check the wiring and if that seems okay...

hi all, it is the spade fuse which totally melted, and took the fuse holder with it, other half states that there was thick acrid smoke coming from the dash, so lucky that the whole car didnt go up. it is the brake lights at the rear of the vehicle, thanks in advance lee

Have to fit new rad. Are there and bleed points to get air out of the system

radiator wanted for Maverick 2.7D R reg within 30 miles of Burton on Trent

sorted it doesnt fit in the pump it holds the housing to the engine block :doh

the bolts line up fine its just that there is a spline with what looks like a posidrive end on it which looks like it fits into the end of the water pump to drive it. on the on sent the end is blanked off

have received the part but have a question.... the old one had a hole for the spline which comes out of the engine block. the new one has a plate over it. the parts supplier states that it is the correct one with regards to the reg number... is there 2 different sorts or is it a blanking place...

have taken of the parts .. they came off easy enough .. have ordered new part so all i have to do now is wait:lol

yeh i have been looking at some new ones trying to price them up, at least i dont have to open up the engine, just seems to fit on the side, do you know of any workshop manuals they seem as scarce as hens teeth

no its an R reg 2,7 diesel what sort of job is it. also have had another quick look at it, and it is the fan and the metal inner to what the fan attaches to that is loose. the metal part which has ridges on it i take it is part of the water pump

it is the whole fan which seems to be moving on the spline, backwards and forwards and rocking from side to side

Help, the engine/rad cooling fan has become loose have had a quick look but cannot see how to remove it, can any one help, also any ideas on how much another one should cost ( a used one will do ) thanks lee

thanks again, i have never driven an auto before, and i dont get many chances to drive the mav, as my wife loves it. we have owned a number of 4x4 and she thinks it is on a par with the tata she had for a number of years. for load space ( for the dogs and booting )...... me i have to make do...
