Have to fit new rad. Are there and bleed points to get air out of the system

no, just the rad cap.(as far as I know) Fill system, run engine with rad cap off, you will see all the air bubble rise - run until they are all gone but it will froth when it gets to running temp so prepare for a little lost coolant..

As ^^^ i have never seen any rad bleed nipples on my trucks..

someone say nipples :naughty

yep just run with rad cap off, someone once told me to have the heater blower on at same time, never found out why though :lol

Makes sure the coolant is flowing round the heater matrix so you don't leave any air trapped there. Also stick the front end up on tramps or facing uphill so that the radiator cap is the highest point in the system.

ah yep makes sense now, :thumbs

Fill the rad up & leave cap off then start engine with the heater on hot & keep topping up the rad as needed. Reason for having the heater on hot is air can easily get trapped in the heater matrix

The only bleed point I know of is on the water heated inlet manifold, but this only applies to the Petrol version, Rick

Thanks for that i have done this on other vehicles but was hoping for a short cut. Still all done now and wife us happy vehicle is back on the road again:thumb2

Haha. Same as what I thought. Got a couple of local tramps near local shopping centre. Have to borrow them the weekend to do an oil change.
