    Turbo Damage

I think you will find that analogy might have been true years ago but modern day oils and modern day turbo construction mean it has become outdated. IIRC the first Saab Turbo's had a timed electric oil pump to cool the turbo after use but that was how long ago? do they need them now? Andy

    Gearbox Oil

A tip for filling gearboxes axles etc is to modify a garden sprayer, the type you pump up, with a curved bit of metal tube to hook into the filler hole. Put the correct amount of oil in the vessel and pump it up. It will fill whatever you want fairly quickly with no mess. This method is...

    Greeting from Cowal

Hi and welcome, I've run 80's since 97 and quite often fancied a Trol and had a few test drives in 4.2's, 2.8's and 3.0's and in 04 nearly p/xed my 95 80 against a new black Trol. The 04 trol was a bit more modern than the 80 but in the end back to back it wasn't worth the extra outlay. Best of...

Be careful who you waste your time with

I've been with AF for years, 4 trucks in all, 2 Chevys, 2 Cruisers all with full NCD £220 for Cruisers, £250 for Chevys. I consider that to be a fair result. Mind , I find them good to negotiate with cos sometimes they quote renewal prices quite a bit higher to see if they can get away with it...

Fresh MOT and no advisories! :-)

It depends on your budget. I've had probably 50 Cruisers in the last 18 years from a 76 FJ 45 pickup to a 03 100 series. with them all inbetween. From what I can gather the 4 cyl 3 litre Patrol engine can have issues, so can the 3 litre Toyota engine (up to 2000) The 6 cyl engines do not have...
