Just as a side note, the brakes don't feel any different to when I first got it.

How do I check the ABS sensor and the brake lines or is it best I just take it to the garage and say stick it through its MOT then fix anything wrong with it and re test it if needed.

Ok, bummer, MOT is due. So how can I diagnose this then, what should I be looking for and where?

The brake warning light (!) Its on constantly, it started flickering a while back now it stays on. The handbrake seems fine, the brake fluid is at the right level, is it indicating brake pads?

Ok, so replacing the wiper motor. I take it its the unit on the pasenger side of the upper bulkhead. Is it a simple un bolt and re bolt the new one job?

well, got it sorted, called out the home recovery guys off my insurance and he jumped it then tightened the alternator cable which was loose, problem solved. Ran the car for half hour and went to halfords, they checked the battery and said it was ok, so didn't replace it but I'm running fine...
