have had a look at the split gaiters ,but having talked to a mate who used to be a mechanic they can split and not seal very well and the truck is my only vehicle and used off road. The cv jints themselves are in good condition if i had more time i would do them myself ,but our works outage...

Hi thanks its booked in the garage for next week would do it myself but work means i do not have time . The calipers are all ok as stripped them and cleaned about 2 weeks ago ,but they where seized before i rebuilt them. Am expecting a bill of £200 approx but it has to be done:doh

Hi about a week ago i adjusted the torsion bars to lift the front suspension as the nose had dropped . And have noticed today that both cv joint boots/gaiters ave split is this just bad luck ot could it have been caused by raising the front onlt took it up an in or so .

I have the 3.0 with manual box and its a very good truck get 30 mpg and its surprising how good it is off road also service parts are very reasonable and the truck is very easy to work on . And its for sale :D

HI yes the original is still there but does not cover the sump. Have askes a local fabricators i use at work and using 3mm stainless its going to cost about £100 in materials and a few beers to have it cut and bent .

Thanks thats just the type im after might well make a copy as have access to all the kit required and a fair bit cheaper .

Am looking at gtting a front bash plate for my truck to go from the front and attach to the cross member dehind the sump . Would like to buy one ready made if they are available or do most people fabricate their own .

Whilst checking the truck have found the front drive shaft gaitor/boot closest to the hub has split. Does anyone now the part number for this and where would be the best place to get one from . Also i presume its not to bad a job to do

Thanks all have gone and brought a piston seating tool from local garage shop for £20 and all welcome to borrow it when you need to, made the job wery easy no more skinned knuckles using bars etc :D

Hi any tips on how to push the brake pistons back as tried normal methods and cannot move them and they are not seized . Or can you buy a tool to push them back to allow new pads to be fitted as went to change pads and ended up putting old one back in (but they where not as worn as i thought...

Had brake pads and full exhaust plus filters etc good to deal with and normally arrive in 2 days

Thanks for info the truck is used for day to day car and pay and play at weekends im presuming by taking the roll bar off it will allow better movement . Also cannot raise the torsion bar as for some reason they are at maximum so would have to remove them and reset

Hi was under the truck yesterday and noticed that both rear anti roll bars links/adjusters are very worn and have about 10 mm play. Will get a new set and fit them is it worth changing the bushes at the same tome as the whole kit is not that much . Also the truck sits lower on the passenger side...

Been and tried it again and it fired so should be ok once the battery can give it a good kick

yhanks for rply yes the primer goes solid after several pumps will try again once the battery charged

Hi have just fitted new diesel filter to my 03 3.0 and it will now not start have primed it and still no joy . Battery is now flat so am charging up .:doh
