Changed diff oil yesterday was like brown and muddy but only very small iron filings on plug. Big improvement in amount of knocking and noises so well pleased, tempted to change it again in a month or so to help flush it all out. Thanks again I think you have saved a diff!

Thanks for all the help will be changing oil on Wednesday so fingers crossed it cures the problem. Steve

No, back end has not stepped out. Good advise will check refill plug first. Knock on full lock definetly coming from back end of truck not front? Many thanks Steve

Rear ujs seem fine but front prop a bit worn, noise seems to come from back though?

Hi guys Nissa terrano 2.7 2004 as above, also feels a bit notchy when reversing up hill or down with lock on. Looking at the rear diff it looks heavily rusted with big chunks of rust that can be broken off...is this normal? Any ideas as to problems much appreciated Thanks Steve

Will have a better look tomorrow when home from work but oil was on left of engine looking from the front just below the pipe and clips, definetly not jubilee clips. It's a 2004 2.7 done 78000 if that makes any difference, thanks for your replies.

Hi all, I have noticed a small amount of oil underneath the truck about 3 or 4 drips a week. Having looked around the there is oil under the intercooler so I guess it's that finding its way down. Is this likely to be a leak from a pipe or something more expensive. Any help much appreciated

Thanks all front prop removed and it does appear to have stopped the noise through the transfer box. The prop has a small amount of play in the rear U.J but seems to have play in the section where it reduces in size about one third the way up...does that make any sense to anyone please?

Hi and thanks for suggestions. Gaiters are on the right way etc. Light comes on when 4 wheel drive etc selected and all works well. Listening to the noise again today perhaps it's more of a shushing noise really definetly more prominent when accelerating but sometimes there when slowing down...
