No idea. Could well be the original MAF for all I know, with 14 yrs worth of grime on it. I understand cleaning the MAF is a common tactic when they are acting up? :nenau

Latest state of play is that misfire now only appears under heavy acceleration. Cleaned MAF again today as well as the wire mesh filter which was black too, have now used best part of a spray can of carb cleaner lol. Hopefully the Redex will finish the job as it goes through the system. No...

Went out to girlfriend's today and had a bad misfire under heavy acceleration over 2,500 rpm. Gave the thing a real bottle of Redex as the previous bottle given was actually STP which it seemed wasn't doing it. Looks to have been an immediate improvement so hope it's sorted at last

Mine was same when I got it. Changed stat for summer one and now goes up to 1/4 way up, got a winter stat to put in plus a new water pump/viscous fan to get it really toasty, i hope. Out of interest, should the fan be running all the time as my and my friends' opinions differ?

This time, I have cleaned the MAF which was black and is now nice and shiney, and put a bottle of Redex into the tank. Initially, this made little difference but, on the run home from...

Thanks Zippy 656, filter got changed today and was found to have a large blob of jelly-like crap in it, most likely detritus from running bio during the summer. Got the truck back running fine with the MIL still lit but it cleared after a bloody good rev up :thumb2
