Im going to dump the new coolant out again at the weekend and put in rad flush and replace coolant afterwards. The expansion bottle is squeeky clean now though.

yep thats what it was like, just looked at the old pump, its fooked but cant see any shiny bits but it makes a noise when rotating so can tell bearings had gone. Maybe the last owners put in rad weld thinking it would help not realising the pump was at fault? Hope it wasn't a cylinder head...

Well yesterday I replaced my water pump but when I flushed the rad out O noticed afterwards my expansion bottle was messy. Just taken it off and thew bottom looked like it was full of copper slip, washed it out and full of shiny specks.Am, I right in assuming that is the remains of my waterpump...

update is I took her out round the block and parked up - can't see any coolant leak so maybe when I filled her up some ran into a pool somewhere in the chassis and this was the dripping, Ill keep coolant in the boot and keep an eye on her. Im always nervous after what for me is a big mechanical...

well ran the beast this morning and i seem to have a few drips originating on the bottom of the rad so not sure if a pipe is on wrong, just hope I didnt damage the rad when I took it out but I was carefull? I jetted the rad down and brushed it with a soft brush whilst off as it was a bit dirty...

well its taken for ever to get it clean, or am I being anal!!!!!!!!!! Had to use a craft scalpel to scrape of the old gasket as it was like bitumen gone hard on the surface. Just washed it down and leaving it to dry for 5 mins then gonna try and get her back together:bow
