    my son has a Chevy astrovan safari which we have converted to a camper, the book says that it as an LSD rear axel this uses gear oil and there is an aditive for LSD axels we have some of this LSD oill aditve. Bri

    I think that the 1997 like mine all have the Hirachi MAF and these are not plug and play ith the tunit type box but I think some one on here wired one in with some fiddling. Regards bri

    I get 24 mpg towing my caravan but its only a 12ft 2berth, overall on a caravaning trip I would expect 26 mpg. Regards bri

    Painting sills

    The sills will be rusting from the inside, if you feel along the inside you will find holes along the length of the sill I have sprayed waxol inside mine but you do need a warm day, or hot waxol! The holes are factory made I presume to be able to spray inside. regards bri

    Fuel Efficiency - best speeds?

    The 56 mph coincides with the build up of wind resistance, over that it really affects your mpg especially with the shape of the terrano. This speed also I believe matches the max torque at 2200 rpm in fifth gear, I can get 32mpg on the motorway at this speed and 28 touring. I rarely go above...

    secondary coupling for unbraked trailer

    I suppose they mean that the chain or wire should be short enough to keep the nose of the trailer from hitting the ground digging in and snapping the chain/cable and allowing the trailer to career off on it's own. regards bri

    I dont understand how cruise control can work with a manual gearbox, auto you set the speed and the cruise and auto box sort it out. With manual you could set the speed for a ratio that did not suit speed i.e 30mph but in 5th gear where a terrano would shake its self to pieces. Perhaps the...

    you could take off the fan blades for the winter, the fan normally only runs for the first 200 yard from cold, after that only comes on in a heatwave when towing my caravan. Mine has the intercooler and I get 26mpg around town 30 on a long run and 24mpg towing my small caravan. bri
