    Custom bash plate

I've been looking at the same thing recently as I'm off to Morocco again in Oct and feel the need to protect the sump from stones. The cross member behind the sump is part of the mounting for the front diff and is mounted with bushes to the chassis so I would be careful about using it to mount a...

    question about hilux rims

I'm really going to show my ignorance now. I'm familiar with the 185/60R/15H type tyre markings but can somebody explain 31/10.50 15 type marking to me? I assume 15 is the rim size in inches and 10.5 is the width (?) in inches but what does the 31 bit mean, profile (?) maybe and if so...

    No1 Injector Socket

Due to my beast going into limp mode at a crucial moment I had to replace No1 injector, the sensor had gone open circuit. Getting the old one out and the new one in proved to be a problem due to the flying lead of the sensor, I see others have had the same trouble. After a brief search for a...

Help - Where can I get...

I just used the existing flare nut and put a suitable sized ball bearing under it. There was enough thread to tighten down and form a good seal. Peter

Help - Where can I get...

Well, CES came up trumps. Nice new clutch hose fitted. About £20 The bleeder on the damper pipe was solid so after about 15 sec thought I popped a ball bearing in the fitting at the front to seal it off. A quick bleed and all is well :clap No noticeable effect on clutch operation with the...

Help - Where can I get...

Thanks for that, I did try my local CES but he seemed a bit doubtful, "IF they've got one on stock I can get it overnight" but not in a very convincing sort of way. I'll give Milners a ring Monday and failing that the factors. Maybe I'm just in a bit of a panic, too close to leaving to be...

Help - Where can I get...

Not silly at all, the problem is that the original part has a three way union on one end that allows for connection of the "clutch damper". Not something I've seen on any other vehicle. However if needs be I will take the bit in and try and match the ends and leave the damper pipe disconnected...

Help - Where can I get...

The flex pipe on the clutch slave cylinder is weeping (as am I), the cause of my slow clutch fluid loss. I've done all the usual net searches and checked Milners and KS but no trace can be found except a possible OEM bit in Ireland for 55 euros +vat. :( Before I jump in and start using bits from...

    Clutch hydraulics

I've done that on brakes before now, in an emergency. Makes a perfect seal as long as you use a nice clean ball bearing. I was a bit broke at the time and ended up driving my old Bedford HA van (yes, it was ex Post Office) for several weeks on the front brakes only :naughty. Could hardly...

    Clutch hydraulics

Thanks for the info, I don't think mine is leaking but it is, or was, hanging loose at the rear end and that fluid went somewhere  I think I will remove and blank before it becomes a problem. I'm off for a month to Morocco next week, wouldn't be good to lose the clutch on a rocky...

    Clutch hydraulics

Just had to top up my clutch fluid so I decided to check for leaks. Following the pipe from the master cylinder down to the slave cylinder I came across a three way union. one pipe goes to the slave cylinder the other goes all the back as far as the rear axle and terminates in a two way union...
