    TYRES

Well, my tame supplier came up with BFG A/T KO at £100 a corner, but is unable to source the Toyo's, even though he's a Toyo dealer. However, blackcircles.com came up trumps with a set of 4 Toyo Open Country AT's on special at £300! Being fitted on Saturday at a local garage too, so if anyone...

    TYRES

Good idea! Well I'm waiting for my tame local tyre centre to come back with prices, but will be going for a set of 4 235/75R15 A/T's within the next week before my annual trip to Aviemore. I've narrowed the choice down to: Toyo Open Country A/T Pirelli Scorpion ATR General Grabber AT2 Goodyear...

    What's this please..

    It's a slightly worn anti-roll bar link...

Neither - it's gear driven, so nothing to snap/stretch :-) Dale

    Hmm... running problem?

I think I need to investigate why the fuel filter isn't draining - am I right in thinking just opening the plastic tap thing on the bottom of the filter should start it draining? Even if I pump the plunger on top with that open, nothing comes out! Filter was last changed 8 months/6000 miles ago...

    Hmm... running problem?

Strange one this. For the past week or so, every now and again I get a lumpy/rough idle and slightly lumpy low-speed running. I'm currently running with 40l of SVO per tankful (was running a 20l mix), and it has a PSI Powerbox and a K&N 57i. The change in running has coincided roughly with...

    SVO fuel economy

Some of you may find this interesting reading: So, other than a PSI Powerbox and K&N 57i, the engine in my '98 SWB is stock. It's done 110,000 miles and runs and drives perfectly. I was running a 20l mix of SVO, but now I've upped that to a 40l mix. At the moment, the 20l KTC drums are £13.89...

I went for the factory fit look

I fitted mine last week too - no smoke, but loads more power. Running a stock (fairly new) air filter at present, though my K&N setup should be here soon (thanks daved!)...

    how good is my mpg

    30.2mpg - not too shabby.

    PSI Powerbox

Well I've just scored myself one of these little beauties on eBay. Unfortunately, I won't see it before lugging to the caravan down to Longleat this Saturday, but it gives me something to play with when I get home :-)

    Newbie, Caravanner, Looking for Terrano.

I tow a 1500kg Abbey Archway Royale 520 (4 berth, end washroom, single axle) with my '98 SWB, and aside from being a little slower away from the lights (to be expected) and occasionally needing to change down on hills, you don't even know it's there. And I get 24-28mpg when towing... Dale

    Electric mirrors fault

When I first got my Mav last year, everything worked perfectly. Now, neither electric mirror works. It's not the fuse (still running all the fuses it left the factory with - none have been replaced!). Is it a common fault? I'm not much of an auto electrician - is the switch a likely candidate...

    svo ... omg

Thanks Darwin, I'd just assumed it was only the more expensive oils such as rapeseed that were suitable. Dale

    svo ... omg

Sounds good, but I always get confused which type of oil to buy - what's SVO?

    Another 3 points!

I don't claim to be a saint - yes, I have, and occasionally still do break the speed limit. I got three points back in 2001 for doing 37 in a 30 limit, but I accepted the punishment - I took the points and paid the fine.

    Another 3 points!

But if the legal limit is 30mph, and you know it is (you shouldn't be driving if you don't know the speed limit!), and you're driving at a speed greater than 30mph, YOU'RE BREAKING THE LAW... Quite simple really. It's funny, but I've heard petty thieves use the exact same 'go catch a real...
