i'm looking to get a classic, a nice car, somehting that has character, a sporty feel & handles.

I have done the fiat sports, porsche 9's, bmw m's, AMG benz thing, even tried a few 6 & v8 Astons , when they were cheeper !!..what i am loking for is a good reliable well made car of charcter...i dunno something like a spitfire or GT6 , maybe a GTV ,who knows...

Whats was the car that left an impression on you between 1970-1992 ?

I can see why Tez, thats about as early as it gets isn't it?!

Mine was a Jaguar XJS V12 convertible that I borrowed from my boss for two weeks - the engine in that thing was something else and when you floored it, it sounded like a bloody Merlin, incredible. Until I got stopped doing 140mph up the A34 :doh Luckily (relative term!) they only clocked me at 115 cos they could keep up for long enough....I could probably have contested it but they didn't seem in the mood for some reason, probably cos I was a snotdrop twenty-something driving a car that cost a year of their wages....but a class motor! Especially for a continental holiday!!:thumbs

mk2 rs2000, or dont laugh to loud that i can hear you mg maestro (turbo)
which are probably rarer than the escort these days.

also saw a concours xr4x4 other week with the 2.9i v6 which would be
bettered with either a super charger or twin turbo kit.

cars

gutted

A few years ago i sold a 2 door 13 OHC (pinto) A reg sierra.

My local ford dealers denied that fords ever made one when i wanted a head gasket.

Took one of the older chaps to confirm they did, but in LHD for holland, mine was RHD.

Sold due to loss of storage
