i keep the filters clean because of running waste veg oil and waste engine oil. mini filter is gone. i think its just how they are! it is a bit better on straight diesel but hardly any difference really. i worry about putting my crap fuel through the electric pumps on tdi's ?

its a td not a tdi. i used to have a 1997 tdi that had more power and was a lot better on fuel

.......did a 265 mile round trip this week. half with empty transporter and half with lwb 4x4 on. brim filled when i left- then brimmed it when i got back and it worked out at 17.8mpg !!!!! (1996 td sat at approx 65mph 80% motorway an 20% A roads)

about 6 years ago i had a 1993 disco 200tdi. id spend the week working with it (if it lasted long enough) and the weekend working on it ! i then saw the light and went jap (terranos)- i now have weekends free!

Yep blank it off. Could be master cyl gone if fluid pushed the wrong way up system?

is tdi box slightly longer? rear prop probably changed. the box seems to fit well, but the 4x4 stick linkage is not connected?

yep thats it! takes a bit of hanging onto when it lands and bounces all over the shop due to no arb's (i wouldnt do this to my road going terrano though!)

type 'terrano dakar' into you tube and see what sort of a landing my swb red likes to take!!!

It's more likely your input shaft vibrating in gearbox. Once there is a bit of wear they can vibrate on tickover. As soon as throttle is touched it goes? How many miles on it? I have seen a couple of tdi with that and although it sounds bad I don't think it is worth repairing unless gearbox...

you never need to soak them in wd40, they are always free. just a quick wire brush an a quick squirt - easy job

i think you would need some fine cutting! do you need to cut 2 skins of metal or 1. if 2 would they need to be tacked to make the edge secure? best bet would prob be put the seal/frame against it and get an accurate line. if you take care should be fairly straight forward i guess. (i have swb...
