Well engineer says clutch has been done, was plate after all.

Says drives ok, but concerned clutch pedal is very light and
doesnt come straight back up with your foot, maybe half a
second to a second lag so is going to bleed it all again.

Also intrigued by the damper affair, thinks is to bleed with.

Mentioned some do and some dont and that those who
have removed them made no difference.

Only thing I noticed all time had t was the pedal squeeked a
bit sometimes. Not half missing it now, sick of riding the bus!

could be bushes:naughty on brake pedal or the return spring on the pedal mine sometimes takes a couple of secs to return if i raise the clutch slowly hope that helps:thumbs

A good (new) clutch will be light, it is because the tighns (fingers) on the diaphragm spring are flat when new, as the centre plate wears the fingers push out more leading to more effort to release the spring, this is how diaphragm clutch springs work, Rick

Still alittle air trapped..

Bleed it in the usual manner slowly and surely at both slave cylinder and damper, close them up then give the pedal afew fast pumps letting it spring up from the bottom on its own. Abit rough but often moves the air bubble, which a 2nd bleed will then remove.

Rick has a point, you will have to get used to the new 'feel' + is has been such a headache you are going to be hyper-sensitive now and thinking about it none stop. Just give yourself time to get used to it :thumb2

think have to use brain not heart to drive, if it works, it err works.

got it home tonight and think is probably as it was before, light wise
just glad to drive again. think he ( the eng ) was basis was compared
to other vehicles. now admits should try to take note of a car before
repair, same with brake pedal and brake repairs.

my thought is hydraulic is there as a lever, to make easier, think of a
hydraulic jack, little effort in big effort out so logically wont need much
effort. these are modern trucks, more car like than old wagons and
dont need to look like jef capes to drive it. thinking there was no auto
option for many years.

on damper, he feels is a remote bleed, doesnt look like a damper
has seen on some LRs, nor sees how a blanked off pipe would damp
anyway. its in good nick for now so leaving as is.

120 mile round trip saturday to bed it in, then subject to fuel putting
tin tent on to the east coast....

after the patrol disastyer you are bound to worry. this is a T2 so relax and enjoy, life is to short to do anything else!

cheers guys, i'm not worried, have absolute faith in truck and engineer
this time round,

just need to get the tank topped up now....
