    Suffolk 4x4 Driving Day@Badwell Ash

I tad bit short notice, but if anyone in the area fancies an offroad day, Suffolk 4x4 are holding a 'Public Driving Day' at their site at Badwell Ash. Its not a huge site, there is plenty to keep yourself occupied with as its a disused quarry

    wind deflectors

i guess anything that fills in the gap would work. the only reason i used leccy tape was because it was all i had on me at the time

    wind deflectors

i finally found out where the whistling noise was coming from on my maverick; because my mirrors have chrome look covers on the back, theres a small gap these and the actual mirror. i found that this small gap was causing the irritating noise so covered it with some electrical tape: problem solved!

    Oil cooler

the 2.7tdi already has an oil cooler fitted as standard, its located on the side of the engine underneath the intake manifold. if look on the workshop manual at 'EM' page 100 you can see it illustrated. i was thinking about modifying the original cooler to have a 'remote' cooler ie fitted in a...

    front exhaust pipe crisis

I done my front pipe by removing the front prop and then undoing the bolts from underneath using a super long extension. The nuts were quite tight, but came undone with some wd40, a wire brush and a breaker bar

Question for those with pre-face lift cars

its been in the car for over a year now. i was running semi synthetic and that use to get ever so warm, hence the reason for putting the fully synthetic in. ive never noticed it before until recently. im going to check the oil level in it and also the transfer box (as that might be getting hot...

Question for those with pre-face lift cars

Just a quick question for those with pre-face lift cars (up to '97) I wrecked my original gearbox 18months ago and since replaced it with a pre-face lift gearbox. The main difference between them is the bell housing is shorter and the oil capacity isnt quite as big (by 1.5litres)(on the older...

    Petrol Noisy Tappet

yeah theyre hydraulic all sorted now: ran it at 2000rpm for a few mins until the tappety noise faded. I also blanked off the egr which has solved the rough idle and slight misfire when reving

    Petrol Noisy Tappet

Ive just brought myself a L reg petrol terrano to 'do up' and sell on. At the moment im just sorting a few engine niggles and one of them is a noisy exhaust tappet. On my diesel mav you can adjust them, but looking over this one and reading the workshop manual it seems you cant on these. Im...

    Viscous fan removal

thats similar to mine, only i have a hose adaptor for mine. surely placing the thermostat in the bottom hose then detects when the radiator isnt cooling enough?? tezzer, i feel i have no need to keep it on. i need to space in front of the rad for my twin fans. if i want to refit the viscous fan...

    Viscous fan removal

best mod i ever did to my vitara so i did the same on my mav if you follow my workshop download, you can use any fan size you want. the only reason i used twin 10" fans was because my thermostat from x-eng had the capacity for two fans: a low temp one and a high temp one. beware with the...
