I'll be getting a batch of shocks in mid MArch but don't have prices for certain as of yet - wil be about the same a procomps were. Problem is the exchange rates so bad to the states at the moment that theres not a lot in em to discount em.

I have said this before somewhere but.....

Gas shock absorbers to fit terranos basically.

Front ones - all the same.

Rear ones standard length, suit std springs and +2" +20% springs and LWB springs.

Rear ones +2" suit +2" std rate springs.


May do others later but to start with thats it for now - bog enough investment as it is.

Ok but will the front ones be ok for the wound up torsion bars?
Also will they compare well against other "upgrade" shox?

As you are not moving the range of movement by winding up the torsion bars only moving the static position only standard length shocks are needed at the front.

They are a brand you may have heard of and will compare well on price. Sure there are better but they're more expensive and there'll probably be cheaper ones out there too (draw your own conclusions) - I hope o have a set on mine for Mac 4x4 so will be able to give a proper report on them come 9th March when I'm back.

well im still getting lots of dive at the front without arbs.... i really need to stiffen and possibly an inch higher to loose the bounce and dive

any help there ?

depends what your current shocks, front and rear, are like really - but ultimately only harder front torsion bars is are going to sort that. Just put new ones on back of mine and thats helped a bit with dive under braking. Make sure your rear load compensating valve is working properly - that way you'll get some rear braking which will help too.

Shocks aren't going to lift the front or stiffen it a great deal - they only damp the movment. Doubt you'll get another 1" out of the front anyway before you're on the bump stops.

Its above the rear axle - designed to reduce rear braking as the back lifts - if you've not reset it back to neutral after you lifted it it MAY be taking braking off the rear even before the back lifts - mine didn't need it but some will, depends exactly how they were set to start with. Theres details in the manual on how to check it.

hi extreme, if you have to adjust the load sensing valve make sure you use plenty of wd40 and go carefully, they cost new around £450.00 plus vat from dealer and good second hand ones are hard to find or thats what a guy from parts gateway told me, he advised a dealer, luckily mine was'nt faulty in the end :doh

They're called dampers actually - shock absorber is a misnomer.

They are there to control the action of the spring, its up to the spring to absorb movement of the suspension.
