    Heater settings

It's not there any more as it wasn't a very safe thing to do. The weak links on the resistor module are fusible links and are the only thing that prevents the motor drawing loads of current and catching fire in the event of a short. The new modules are not very expensive to buy...

    Sorry!!

Hopefully mine is going on Sunday, I lost a grand on it I reckon but I will be glad to get rid before anything else goes wrong on it. You even hear stories these days of new LR with stupid problems, and a guy I work with has had to have new rear callipers on his defender and it's only 3 years...

    No Low box!!

That's reassuring, I certainly don't think the last owners used 4WD at all. I planed to change the gearbox oil next weekend - so the transfer box needs an oil change too :thumbs What oil goes in the transfer box?

    No Low box!!

I didn't know about that plate - very usefull info - I will have to take the console out once again hopefully for the last time and have a look this weekend. Many thanks for that :thumbs

    No Low box!!

It's all standard - just like my old terrano - I've tried what you've suggested and a good 10mins trying all sorts of tricks but it's not showing any signs of going in, the stick has no movement whatsoever any further than 4H. :(

    No Low box!!

I don't believe it, I have looked this Terrano up and down before buying it and forgot to check it in low box. :doh Bells should have rung last week when I lifted the carpet and found that the rubber moulding around both gear sticks had not been secured down properly and the metal skirt which...

    10w 40

The industry is gradually moving away from mineral oils, in ten years it may not be possible to buy it in the EU. The pollutants from hydrocarbon mineral oils are rather nasty not only when burned and inhaled but also in contact with skin. There is a link with the dreaded C word

    flat battery

Open only the bonnet, turn everything off and close all the doors. Disconnect a terminal from the battery and connect a 12v bulb ( a small wattage like a courtesy light bulb is ideal ) across the clamp you have just taken off and the battery terminal you removed it from. If the bulb lights at...

    Bull Bars

I actually had bull bars on the truck when I bought it. I know now that they were an after market product made by AVENGER an not factory fitted. They looked a bit vicious really, I would hate to be a pedestrian on the receiving end of them. I debated quite a while whether or not to keep them...

    Bull Bars

Greetings, A question I have been meaning to ask for a while .... was there ever a Terrano fitted with Bull Bars from new and does it affect your insurance if you fit them? Cheers Rich

    Front wiper Problem?

Looks like you got it spot on.:thumb2 The problem with mine was that someone had replaced the motor and also removed the wiper arms so put the whole system out of alignment. The way I realigned it is to remove the wiper arms, remover the plastic trim under the windscreen and remove the metal...

    Mirror electrics

The wires are in a sleeve ( like loose heatshrink ) that comes out of the mirror unit. There are 5 wires in total. Green, Blue, White, Black and Red. Just cut your old connector off about 2 inches from the plug and chock block it onto your new mirror. Red - Red Black - Black White to white...

    Mirror electrics

Just for info - Today I fitted a MK2 mirror from a 2001 Terrano to a MK3 2005 Terrano. I don't know if there is such thing as a MK3 - it's what the guy who supplied them said mine was :nenau Anyway - the MK1, MK2 and MK3 all have the same fixings ( three bolts under the triangular cover, some...

    Front seats needed

I found these on fleabay earlier - in one of the photos is a Terrano similar to what you have described like yours. I remember my old year 2000 Terrano had a long and short seat in the back and so you could fold the large seat down leaving a single seat but in my new Terrano they both appear to...

    Front seats needed

Thanks for that but he only has them in grey ( fussy bugger now ). I see in your profile you have black leather seats - what year is your Terrano as I'm trying to find out what year they did them and if the SUV had a different style leather seat.

    arrogant neighbours update!

Boundary disputes unfortunately are delt with as domestic civil issues which sometimes end up in court but in most cases get abandoned due to financial exhaustion as the respective value far dwarfs the mounting legal costs. Quite often, despite most peoples opinions, these cases have an...

    Front seats needed

He's replied now - he says can get the seats onto pallets. They aren't in brilliant condition but better than the smelly doggy drool stained cloth seats currently in my newly acquired Terrano. There are also dog hairs that don't come out even with an aggressive dyson- there's a reason it was...

    Front seats needed

Many thanks for that but he's only got the front seats and they are a light grey. There is a complete set of black leather on fleece bay also and I've approached the guy about putting them on a pallet so that I can organise a courier but he hasn't responded.
