I don't believe it, I have looked this Terrano up and down before buying it and forgot to check it in low box. :doh
Bells should have rung last week when I lifted the carpet and found that the rubber moulding around both gear sticks had not been secured down properly and the metal skirt which should be on top of the outer edge of the rubber was underneath the outer edge. it looks like someones been here before
Today I discovered that I can only select 2WD or 4 WD ( there are only two possible positions ) and to get 4WD I need to push down on the stick ( I remember on the old terrano that I had to push down to get 4WD+low). There is absolutely no movement any further - it's solid as if there wasn't supposed to be a low box on this car.
It's as if the 2H is where the 4H should be and the 4H is where the 4L should be.
There is a slightly springy don't want to force it feeling if I push the lever further up than the 2H position.
Could it be that the position of the selector relative to the box is out of sync?
Any ideas much appreciated.
many thanks
Rich
