Just for info - Today I fitted a MK2 mirror from a 2001 Terrano to a MK3 2005 Terrano. I don't know if there is such thing as a MK3 - it's what the guy who supplied them said mine was :nenau

Anyway - the MK1, MK2 and MK3 all have the same fixings ( three bolts under the triangular cover, some have a tweeter mounted in them ) so they are interchangeable - the only difference is the connectors.

After spending a bit of time with the multimeter - the other good news is that you can snip off the connector on your old mirror leaving a couple of inches of cable and choc block colour for colour and plug it back into the loom in the door.

It leaves me wondering why did they have to change the connectors?

probably because they had a load of mirrors left over from another unrelated model that they wanted to use up, Rick

Cool I've had a mk2 mirror on my mk3 that never fitted loom wise now I shall chop da wires and see what happens

Great news that you've been able to fix it up. Any idea of the wire colours and what goes where? Ta

The wires are in a sleeve ( like loose heatshrink ) that comes out of the mirror unit. There are 5 wires in total.

Green, Blue, White, Black and Red.

Just cut your old connector off about 2 inches from the plug and chock block it onto your new mirror.

Red - Red
Black - Black
White to white etc....... :thumb2
