Are you still there? They're taking their time, Alex. Hopefully not being too thorough!

    new battery

I've always bought Bosch when I can afford it and have always been happy but I guess others will have different experiences. My work van has a Delco battery, has covered 265k miles in 12 years and is still going strong! Now I look back at this, it's no use to you whatsoever so apologies and good...

    Battery let me down

Just like to say that it's worth taking all these readings both on the battery posts and also on the battery clamps to rule out a bad post /clamp connection. Was once embarrassed to have this pointed out to me by an RAC man...

    A Bit of Guidance Please

I've just renewed my membership here so I won't be going too far away ;-) and I may well visit the land of Terranos again one day as I really like the "fixability" of them but for now I think I need a Merc or similar.

    A Bit of Guidance Please

Forgot new front discs and pads, rear shoes and front prop uj's as well lol I bought a rust free car that needed lots of jobs but all done now. If I find a job that needs doing I have to get it sorted - I'm not good at polishing them but I do like them to behave properly.

    A Bit of Guidance Please

Hmm, thanks both. Maybe 2.5 seems about the right starting point then with a bit of room for haggling. I don't want to rip anyone off - it's been done to me and it's not a nice feeling.

I'm thinking eBay is the way but didn't want to over /under price it, so looking to gauge opinion. By the way Alex, I love reading about your mods and exploits please keep em coming :thumb2

    A Bit of Guidance Please

This year we have a couple of longer European trips planned, and while the Terrano is great at most things, it's not the best autobahn stormer out there and now having use of a fully fuelled company van as well, I think the time has come to say goodbye to the Terrano :( What I need to know now...

    Help on possible car purchase

We had an 03 1.3 Ka and can confirm the rustiness around the petrol flap but ours also rusted through at the base of the A pillar (near bottom corner of the windscreen), and also sills. Quite good fun to drive and quite economical though.

    Gearbox switches

On my Tdi, the tick over drops by about 100 rpm after being stationary for a second or two, so maybe a motion sensor?

    bighorn

This is from the Trooper Owners Club web site when a member asked which to go for: "I'll start , the 3.1 Trooper is a good reliable truck , a bit underpowered but will always get you home , the 3.0 Trooper is the work of the devil that has ruined Isuzu's reputation beyond repair and the only...

Looks stunning mate. I'm taking a guess from the title that it's coast to coast across South Island?

This is taken from the Just Giving page that was set up to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association: "On Friday, 17 October 2014 Cedwyn Smallwood took his final bow. For the past 18 months he has suffered from Motor Neurones Disease, a rare condition where parts of the nervous system...

    knocking gearbox and slipping clutch

I also used David Beaumont (4x4gearboxes.co.uk) all the prices exclude VAT and he has a £100 (plus VAT) deposit against the old unit. So gearbox £600 plus a £120 refundable deposit. So far so good.
