    head gasket

Oh, I sniffered mine at my work using the MOT emissions rig and got zero hydrocarbons but had definite bubbling which disappeared after I did the headgasket... Go figure!

    new springs

Not forgotten to measure it but my gearbox oil arrived tonight so had to prioritise that job before I left work. Park on a curb outside the house so it's not much use going to do it just now :lol Should get it done tomorrow as I need that measurement as a reference point for setting the torsion...

    blooming clutch pedal!

Definitely a spring. Mine had snapped in half and the tiny plastic bush had halved too. It's all at the top of the pedal.

    head gasket

I found it easiest to remove the inlet so i didn't have to negotiate the fuel pipes, but leave the exhaust manifold with turbo and elbow on. One of the exhuast manifold bolts under the turbo is nearly impossible to manipulate and added over an hour to the job the first time I did it. It does...

    new springs

Yes it did raise the rear but as also stated above I believe it has returned it to standard ride height from saggy spring height. The previous owner had already adjusted the front torsion bars to make it level with the saggy arse end so that's my next job, to re-adjust the front torsion bars to...

    new springs

Just fitted the Milners +20% stiffer to my T2 LWB last week with KYB Gas monotube shocks. They are in no way harsh and the new shocks and springs have turned the rear end from an unpredictable bounce when going sideeways round a corner in to a nice controllable drift ala MX5 style :lol Can't...

    Rear Anti Roll Bar Links

Not done these yet but saw them yesterday while i was doing my rear shocks and springs. Decided that an angle grinder would be adequate to cut the nut off the bottom balljoint end of it where it attaches to the anti roll bar. Felt around the top of it and it's enclosed on 3 sides and you can...

    Wanted: Unwanted hid kit h4

Also don't confuse the above Department for Transport (dft) stuff with what is required for the MOT which is administrated by VOSA (vehicle operating services agency) as the dft stuff isn't in vosa's manual. Another example of 2 different agencies taking 2 different views on what is required...

    Wanted: Unwanted hid kit h4

As far as i'm aware from an MOT perspective then if self levelling systems and headlight washer systems are fitted then they must be operational. If not, then so what. As long as the beam image is correct and the height and kickoff are in tolerance, and the light emitted from both headlights...

Water in Fuel Filter Light on

As you said, the float/its circuitry may be developing a mind of its own, or the electrical connector could be affected by the condensation. When you change the filter (let me know if you want some cheap by the way) spray some white grease in to the connector to stave of any damp in future. The...

    Think my suspension is tired.

I have these waiting to go on along with Milners 20% stiifer springs. Will report back when I finally get them fiited!

    mazda 6 parts

Yup, mechanically its a pig to work on!!! Anything suspension or brakes seems to be a lot more time consuming than most other vehicles.

    Moist in the rear!

There are sometimes simple cabin vents which take the form of hoses or flaps at the rear of the vehicle. I would think that these are to allow all that positive pressure that blows out of the vents at the front to displace air through the cabin and out of the rear essentially 'drying' the cabin...

    Moist in the rear!

If it drives the long rod that goes in to the jack then please still send it to arcascomp and i'll buy it off him!

Where can I get a pair of hub circlips? Accept main stealer

I just had a look in the FAST system as I was a bit puzzled by the response you got from Nissan and was considering ordering some myself soon. True to form when you apply the part number search to the part code sourced in the illustration it hits you with the thickness options, and the parts...

    Breaking Terrano 2 and Mavericks

You're both right. I need the equivalent plate for my 2001 TDi but have never seen one and assumed it'd be the same as the one in the pic, although you're right, mine has the big round multiplug! 2 more items for the list: Genuine Ariel Button for the light switch on the roof between the 2...

    Breaking Terrano 2 and Mavericks

Great, please give me some indication of price, feel free to PM me if you wish. As far as you can see would that rear door handle with barrel lock in it be a direct bolt in for the later model where it's blanked? All i need to know is whether the bolt holes for mounting in to the door are the...

    Breaking Terrano 2 and Mavericks

No probs on the indicator, local dealer is £27+vat but offering 20% off so basically vat free. Any joy on the other bits?

    Breaking Terrano 2 and Mavericks

Asked a few pages back and never got a reply... 2001 Terrano II 2.7TDi - Wiper linkage (it's the nearside pivot for the arm in particular that has a collapsed bush/collar). - O/S/F Indicator - Pair of front suspension arm bumpstops - Pair of rear bumpstops - The bracket on the inlet manifold...

    Thermostat housing problem

When you're removing the thermostat housing (that bolts to the front of the cylinder head), use an old wing mirror glass to find the hidden bolts at the bottom of it (there are two). Might be worth ordering the rectangular rubber gasket at the base, and metal one that joins to the head, and a...
