    New Patrol owner

Another 'trol is always welcome, far too many of those Terranos. :augie It will be interesting watching it go from "standard" to expedition. :clap

    ECU remap today!

Yes:thumb2 An ECU remap is a notifiable issue for the insurance, and is one of the things they may check in the event of an accident where speed could have been an issue. However as I am sure this was done to increase the power for the towing capability and safety, not in any way to increase the...

    Recall booked for Friday!!

I took the 'trol into the local dealer about 6 months ago for a fault with the airbag warning light. They reset the light foc and just told me to come back if it came on. About a week later I got a call to say that now the car was on their database it had flagged up a recall on the passenger...

    Dyneema rope spec needed

On the subject of changing from steel to synthetic, don't forget that the roller fairlead that normally gets fitted to a steel winch will snag and break a synthetic rope. You must use a smooth, fixed fairlead.

    Where is the o/c sticker?

The club ones are a standard size and colour. They are good if the car is a dark colour. I have them on either side of my 'trol. I got some others (not club related) made by this guy http://www.asigns.co.uk/vehicle.html. He makes to order, any colour and any size. They were next day and good price.

If you haven't got side steps it just means you haven't lifted it enough to need them. :naughty

Looking to buy patrol for overland trip

Welcome to the club. The more 'trol's the better. :clap

    New rules of engagement

I am glad it is not just around here there are idiots like that. We get them every year when the first snow or frozen morning happens. I usually see them sliding gently into a roadside ditch. :doh

    roof dvd player

I had mine done earlier this year and that is exactly what I was told. :thumb2 You can have the rear ones completely blacked out if you want. The front and front sides on most cars are slightly darker than clear as standard and any additional colour will bring them below legal levels. While...

    SOS Insurance

I went to Adrian Flux (from Direct Line) when I changed the tyres to A/T on an otherwise standard Patrol. They gave me a good price at the time. :clap Since then I have updated them with all the mods to the 'trol as they have gone along and the original price has not changed until the last mod...

    Sheet metalwork

I did consider that, and may well try it if I can't get the real thing, but I was not sure the door panel was strong enough not to twist under the weight of the wheel without the full strength of the complete plate. Moving the wheel out 25mm (an good old-fashioned inch!) is going to put more...

    Sheet metalwork

Is there anyone in the forum who makes things out of sheet metal? :nenau I want a spare wheel spacer for the back of my Patrol. They are available from several places in Australia, but having looked, the postage is considerably more then the cost of the part. It is a fairly simple part, made...

Guess who took trip to Artic Trucks!

I just feel sorry for Rick, I can just imagine the list of jobs he is going to get asked to do. :augie

    Front brake hoses

Don't see this at all, sounds like the garage is making it up. :doh The calipers usually get stiff in their seals, particularly if it is a long time since the pads were changed. With my old Terrano, which only did about 6k miles each year, I had to strip the front brakes every couple of years...

    Icelandic Truck Porn

I am starting to see a theme here with these big trucks ................ they all have bumpers. :augie:augie

This thread has just reminded me, I stuck a poppy in there last November - it must still be there. :doh

No VAT on Clarke products at Machine Mart

I know the feeling. I get these from the local Machine Mart about every 6 months. Every time I give in to the temptation and go "just to have a look", I always come out with a new toy. :doh I have now decided not to go in unless there is something specific I want. :thumb2

    new tyres

I have just recently bought a set of Mud BFG's and the cheapest place I could get these was again on the internet, at http://www.oponeo.co.uk/ They came in from Germany, but arrived by courier on my doorstep 3 days after I ordered them. £10 each for fitting, balancing and new valves to my...

    new tyres

It all depends on the size and make. If you are looking for a specific tyre to match the rest, you may have to pay more. I used to check on Blackcircles on the web for a starting price. For standard road tyres they were good. £75 inc valve, balancing and the dreaded VAT for a good make sounds...
