the new hitachi ones are around £400 the bosch are around £40......

does anyone know if we can change the existing hitachi maf sensor for a bosch one...i realise the plugs may be different but the manual sais the tests on the unit are the same etc so surely they must work the same..?

OK THANKS...i think we will try to use the bosch one and change the plug... we have replaced the fuel pipe that was corroded and started to leak but it hasnt solved the problem..

apparently it has an hitachi unit on it...afh 70-14 226802j200 i dont know if its had the wrong one put on perhaps?

Fuel pump thanks to everyone for replying.. i have lack of power,nothing over say 2000rpm...will get to 70 plus on motorway eventualy but hardly moving on hills etc.. hardly any smoke from exhaust,turbo dosent feel as if cutting in ,i guess because revs wont go high enough...rev counter goes...

does anybody know if there is a fuel pump in the tank on a 98 terrano 2 / ford maverick 2.7tdi ? i have no power which we think is low fueling . i have a new injector pump at the front.. thanks...

HI.. it dosent make any difference adjusting the rod at this stage.. does anybody know the part number for an hitachi maf sensor on a late 97 2.7tdi maverick? i have the numbers 226802j200 and afh7014 on the existing unit but im not sure if it has the correct one fitted. thanks

thanks for that.. we have found the rod moved and the nut loose.....let you know what happens..

the car starts first time everytime in hot or cold or freezing with no waiting for glow light or need of throttle..no smoke at anytime at start up,accelerating or any speed...car is smooth and quiet at idle or at 80mph etc..no oil leaks at all... a pipe has been rigged up from a can of diesel...

HI.. would the compressions being down(if they are)cause lack of power over 2000rpm? it picks up again after 3000rpm a bit.. engine gets hotter at higher speed.... no power over 2000 rpm cant climb hills hardly idle excellent smooth at any speed no smoke of any colour at all at anytime...

hi everyone.. the injection pump has been fixed and put back on....there is still no power after around 2000rpm,but it now picks up a bit after 3000... we have found the diagnostic socket and plugged it in,nothing is coming up as a fault.... does anyone have any further ideas? temp semsor or...

hi guys thanks for the help....the recon pump is on the bench to be fitted... whilst turning the engine over by hand (pump on bench still)theres no resistance felt as surely you should as it goes top dead centre.. ?????

ok thanks....will it make a difference if the injector pump isnt fitted...surely it shouldnt?

also does anyone know about compresion on these 2.7tdi ,s....the garage say when turning it over by hand theres hardly any resistance like you should get with compresion...is this normal for these engines....theres no smoke at anytime and no mixing of oil and water etc..

hi..the pump was £200 to fix at a specialist...it turned out that it wasnt a bosch pump....

HI.. Funny you should say about the pump timing....the results back from the fuel pump reconditioners was that there were 3 internal faults one of which was something making the timing incorrect....we will see if it fixes it when its sent back to us...
