    y61 zd power loss

Always new you would get another T2. Would get another myselt but not a 2.7. I got a 2.8 Trol due to the early 3.0DI grenading. Have done a few mods the mine and its now on a par power wise with a 3.0ltr and I love straight 6 engines. Enjoy your new toy

    y61 zd power loss

Sounds like the MAF to me on Patrol 4x4 they recon its MAF failure that can cause the ZD to grenade in the 1st place. The ZD also has a MAP sensor that can cause issues. MAF's for ZD are not expensive and in my opinion cleaning the things is a total watse of time and effort. If you do get a...

    Y61 Turbo not kicking in

Turbo doesn't have a wastegate as its a variable vane turbo, could be the vanes sticking and the EGR could be sticking too. Best thing to get is a boost gauge to tell whats happening. also check out AndrewK's thread with turbo problems and that will explain how the turbo operates on a 3.0DI...

    advice

Blocking the EGR in a 2.8 will not cause any problem and it will stop the dirty exhaust gases recycling (EGR) from sooting up the intake. Buy a new EGR gasket and make a template from it. Look here, its in french but just get google to translate. http://www.patrol-gr.net/trucs64.php :thumb2

    Overboost problem, 2005 Patrol

Richard have a good read at the test procedures. Sounds like it is spiking on spool up and overshooting and reaching more than 18psi before 2000rpm bring on the MIL:doh I know you've not got a boost gauge, but you can still do the tests at stated RPM and see if it faults. :thumbs
