What year is your troll ? I fancy lifting mine too :sly Lifting the body should be cheap enough as it's essentially just some big old spacers and some longer bolts:rolleyes: The colis and shocks however , seem to be damn expensive for proper longer ones
If you see any deals I'll go halves with you :naughty

but it doesnt say how much lift you get, personaly i dont want much as i dont realy do off road just fields and farms. austrailian ebay will be the place to look as they are big into the trols:D

think be wary of lifting as standard arches leave tyres looking small, so need to budget
for more rubber too.

check jocky, he lifted his by inch or two as i recall, dadba if you can fnd him
lifted his swb y61 had 35" nfg mt

think troll is tallish now as a road family car, try getting in without using steps
then picture climb into lifted.

looks well larson, dont think recall seeing it before.

like mine think the factory flips might have to go.
were fine off road but damaged mine in deep snow
reversing.

dont think steps get in way, perhaps could be made
to be stronger rock crawlers though. think are
fastened to sills, where as ones on terrano2 were
fixed to chassis.

think if modded mine more would follow long way down
styling, not so much lifted as more robust.

i dont mind getting a ladder to get in but i would like a we bit more hight for shooting over walls and seing over walls on the way past the fields.. my wife said 2 inch would make all the diferance:eek:

:lol:lol:lol:lol ah yes the extra 2" :sly well don't forget some bigger rubber for that :naughty:naughty

Have a look here: http://www.taubenreuther.com/?id=05 site has changed since I got my stuff. I got ironman shocks from westcoast4x4

I lifted mine and the BFG's AT's looked to small in the arches (265's) so sold them and got grabber AT2's 285/75x16 (33") and it looks much better.

As already said you don't need to lift it if your not doing serious offroading as they are high enough. You could get spacers for the springs!!!!

Come on then Rich, Which tv series first coined the phrase?

Anyway, Lifting depends on what you want to do with the truck, and why you want the space. So I will give you a quick run-down on pros and cons.

BODYLIFT - These are spacers, that lift the body further away from the chassis - if fitting these, body mounts must be solid, and you must fit rubber bushes each side of the spacer - you may even need to reinforce with a plate before hand - 2 inches max.

This effectively gives you more space for axle articulation - or more space before the tyre rubs on the arches. You vehicle will look higher, you have a few more inches before the water starts creeping in, and the best bit, it gets rid of mud traps between the chassis and body, as you can clean and paint the chassis tops easily.

DON'T think you can handle deeper ruts - the chassis is the same height from the ground, as are the diffs, and you engine is the same height, so don't fall into the 'water isn't getting in so I can go deeper' trap!

You can improve matters by getting bigger tyres, and bigger wheels. this may give you an extra inch....you will lose your gained articulation on the wheel arch fouling though!

SUSPENSION LIFT - Longer springs and shocks will give you better articulation, and raise your vehicle and chassis further away from the ground. This is better suited for off roading, and you will be able to handle deeper ruts/water crossings without fouling the chassis....don't forget your diffs will always be the same height as before (unless fitting bigger tyres) so look at diff guards.

You will need to extend your brake lines, especially the front. Your ride will be softer and have a much more 'boaty' feel, so be careful on corners - you either bias for on or off road - that is the pay off. Also watch for side angles - the higher you are, the less an angle you can successfully reach without falling over!

Rule of thumb is 2" - That is Useful, without being detrimental to ability. You can pull another inch with tyres/wheels.

Suspension kits are around £5-600, Body lifts kits around £60.
