not sure how the switch works but my altenator gets hot enough to burn if touched if it helps rick may be able to help with switch

i think that the switch is to engage the clutch so as to drive the ac compressor not sure on the heat thing but most get hot due to being near the engine

prop shaft now has a new u/j and has been refitted and squealing noise gone :lol

have found 10/40 mineral oil in asda before now my motor factors stock it and eurocarparts do it as well have 8 cans of the stuff as every now and then they do buy one get one free on their oils so i stocked up on all my oils :augie

yes realy ackward but i have never had to take anything off like you have had too i just fiddled with it and it came out via the hole in the arch if i remember right i had to point the front upwards to get it to come out but funny mine went back in easier but at least you have it off now:lol

i find going in via the wing and i use moon shaped or s shaped spanners make it easier and i have a set of stumpy spanners too there is not much room for a lot else :thumb2
