    Leaking diesel blues

Last night I took out the inspection plate (the 4 screws just about made it ) from inside the rear. This indeed is a good place to start, I can locate the pipe, disconnect it from the tank and should be able to replace it, working from both ends - upper and under. Thanks.

    Leaking diesel blues

Thanks for all the replies. I'll remove the inspection plate on the boot floor, see if there another perspective to view the fuel pipes from and regardless, look to replacing the leaking pipe with the aid of the junior hacksaw. The rivgun sounds an excellent idea, but these words "when the...

    Leaking diesel blues

Got them leaking diesel blues - around the tank area. Can't avoid the issue anymore. Was managed to be avoided by having < 30 Litres. in the tank. At least I had that impression. I could not see any place where the fuel was leaking from, as much or as far as anybody can see anything. I´m...

    Terrano 2 Key

Can't you have 2 working keys with just one good transponder chip? Take the chip out of the good key and stick somewhere around the ignition lock. Should work fine until your situation is resolved. How can you sleep with the worry about the whereabouts of your ONLY working key?

    Terrano 2 Key

http://www.timpson.co.uk/ I thought for a second that was a gravestone engraving service here is the page direct http://www.timpsonlocksmiths.co.uk/key_programming.htm Either they havent programmed it properly or you have the wrong chip. Phone the Timspon hotline /get a rebate, and/or go to...

    Terrano 2 Key

Just a guess, but do you not think it is very likely that you have a key with the wrong chip and that's why it won't work in your car. That is the most simple explanation. That is, assuming the guy in the workshop followed proper procedure, because I assume he took your old working key along...

    6" x 9" Done

When I took off the door trim panel, I did not remove the outer grill from the trim panel. I left the outer grill on, I just attached the speaker directly to the inside of the outside grill. If you know what I mean :) The only visible difference now (after the trim panel has been stuck back on...

    6" x 9" Done

I see you went to the bother of removing the grill thingy from the trim panel. I left the grill on and attached the speakers to the inside of the grill, placing them as high as possible in the space. I was able, with the use of spacers, to have the speakers tilted upwards to project the sound...

Brake pad replacement, pin bolt stuck

Just in the process of replacing the front brake pads. About to fit the caliper back again onto the lower pin bolt and the pin bolt is stuck fast, not even allowing the caliper to fit properly. The pin bolt of course should move in and out freely. I'm at my wits end, just short of placing a pipe...

    Blown speakers

The woofer in the boot? that would drive my dog manic  It has to be under the front passenger seat. The impediment is just the hard plastic rectangular hose for directing the heated air to the back seat passengers. They are not a priority. A clean cut, block it off and I'm sure the...

    Blown speakers

:o I was more asking a question than anything else :) As it turned out, most of the JBL's that I listed were not available. Basically I was trying to find stock at the prices before the IsKr fell in value last Nov. I ended up buying Alpine at the old prices. I purchased 2 sets of speakers...

    Blown speakers

Slight audible hints are emerging that I could do with upgrading my speakers. I take it that the little grill covering the speaker doesn't prise open. I don't know what type of speakers are already there, if it's the original or upgraded. It has a separate tweeter higher up on the door trim...

    Rear lights out

Good info, thanks. All other lights are working at the rear, including the plate lights. Only the one tail light not working. So I´ll check where the live wire splits into the harness, as the earth wire is okay.

    Rear lights out

I had a lot better look today. On the LS (the scene of the first blow out), a bit of a clean and a going over got it working fine. On the RS, scene of the most recent blow out, the Earth is working but the Live is not working. Other lights in that unit are working grand, the reverse and the...

    Rear lights out

I have just checked the lugs and they're okay. It's cold dark and windy out there now, I'll give it a go in the morning with other tests.

    Rear lights out

Tail lights are not working. Fuse okay, bulbs okay and known to be okay. First it was on one side only, then the other side stopped working a month or so later. What would you do? Splice into another source? or where would you start to find the fault?

    Fan question

Though I wouldn't like to be depending on a warning light to enlighten me about the auto box being dangerously hot. I'd assume that if the water temp gauge needle is below the middle then the gearbox temp is allright, the circulating water has to be cool enough. As I don't have air...

    Fan question

While on a trip the steering V belt snapped. Then shortly after, the Alt/Battery warning light came on. On inspection, the broken belt had sorta edged its way over to the alternator belt, got entangled and dislodged it so it was hanging loose. Until I got the proper size, I refitted the alt...

    Lost Key

Yeah it worked out like that, except that the few seconds seemed very very long seconds. I got to the jeep about midnight, it was parked in a residential area, as soon as the alarm eventually stopped, I got out of there fast.

    Lost Key

My son has rung me to say he has lost the Ignition Key  He had locked the jeep with the remote. I have a spare key, it's a normal enough looking remote key with NATS written on one side. AFAIR the remote facility didn't work. What is the procedure, if I use the spare key to open the...
